Not such a good day weatherwise so I took Ellie out early thinking I would miss the rain but we did get a little wet. There are so many dog owners/walkers in Sandwich and of course they all chat.
We have been chasing the return of our huge deposit from the Preston house. Legally it should be refunded within 10 days. They were all pleased with the inspection, after all the house was in a far better state when we left than when we moved in. Well, we have gone well over the 10 days and are really fed up with waiting. Mal phoned the letting agent who had been in touch with the Lady of the manor several times to confirm the release and she hadn’t bothered answering. We reminded them this is way overdue and illegal so they have made the decision to release the money to us but it will have to be a cheque…posted tonight! They won’t bank transfer. Thank goodness we are now out of the “private rented sector”.
We spoke to them again and asked if we could collect the cheque, which I did and banked it! Of course Mal was down at his allotment again, trying to play catch up.
In the evening we went to Charlie’s Bistro, they even let us take Ellie! She just lies by the tabel and no one knows she is even there. The food was very good. I had scallops to start followed by prawn fajitas, very hot but tasty. The owner was very talkative. There were a majority of French customers in there. It was nice to have a drink and be able to walk home.
