We took Ellie to Minnis Bay as we will be restricted with beach walks from 1st May. There were very few people around but half way though the walk a couple started chatting to us. I recognised a South African accent and was correct. Small world, Keith turned out to be one of the vets at the surgery I go to. George, who owns the surgery, I have known for years and still go all the way to Minster to take Ellie. I was his first client when he started on his own. I hadn’t seen Keith but he has obviously been there for some time. Again, they say women talk but my goodness did Mal and Keith yap! In the end , 40 minutes later, Maureen and I said it really was time to go, evidently after Keith and Mal exchanged emails, something to do with computers!
It was lunchtime by the time we arrived home!
Mal went to the allotment in the afternoon. I drove him there with a car full of garden waste which he can use on his compost heap.
By the afternoon he had heard from Keith, the vet, who is asking for Mal’s technical assistance. He will help him and he’s agreed to do it in the “Pay it Forward” mode, he doesn’t want paying. If people don’t know this, try and watch the (my favourite) film, Pay it Forward, with Kevin Spacey and Helen Hunt.. I am sure the world would be a better place if more people did this, no matter how small the deed.
