Mal has been preparing the outside walls and today started painting them. Torin was doing the fiddly bits on the slab laying, having to cut pieces to fit.

I heard from my “boss” at Demelza who said they were all waiting for their 10am tea that I usually make!! I replied he will have to deduct money from my wages. Ha ha.

David came to see us at lunch time,Kenny is still in hospital, having X rays today and then we will know if he requires an operation on his arm. He was just going back there but has left some keys with me, so later I went over to let Jekka and Loppi out and also have a play with them.

I parked the car and knocked one of our car port posts and one upright collapsed. On closer investigation by Torin, the post was rotten. We then discovered it was vibrating……..carpenter bees. Thank goodness we discovered this before Torin was climbing on it fixing a new roof to it!! Torin and I were fascinated by the tunnels and holes they had made in several of the uprights. That is the end of the car port for now.

A whole load of he bees flew out when he cut it in half!

Mal achieved quite a lot of the painting, each time doing the opposite side to where ever the sun was.

In the evening we went back to Blue Song. They even had a strategically placed “Shirley Valentine” table tonight!

A couple arrived a little later, I guess it was their anniversary.

Again, a spectacular sunset.

We normally have good food here and I chose the sea bass. On this occasion it was small and overcooked. Mal’s and Torin’s meals were perfect. It was one of those times I wish I had chosen something else.  Never mind we still had a good evening.

The good news is that Kenny does not need an operation and should be home tomorrow.

 So, we started work in the heat again.
Mid morning I received an email from David saying that Kenny had an accident last night, obviously while we were out. He fell down their marble stairs banging his head. He tried phoning Kolan hospital, the private hospital, emergency number and there was no answer! He then phoned for an ambulance. The ambulance arrived within 10 minutes with a 4 man crew. They took him to the state hospital and he had a ct scan right away, because he had banged his head. He had 11 stitches in his head, has broken his arm in three places and also has cracked ribs and is in hospital.I tried to phone David but he was obviously at the hospital.
It’s Sunday so a half day away from the work!
 We had our lunch at Acmenya. They are still doing their 3 course lunch, helping yourself to desserts. coffee and brandy for 30tl.  Only bonkers Brits go and eat Sunday roast in this heat! BUT at least as the temperature has risen, the humidity has dropped.
We sat by the fans!
On the way home we saw David heading back to the hospital to see Kenny. They will know tomorrow if his arm needs operating on. At least his head is OK following the Ct scan. David is very impressed with the attention they have been receiving. Sounds better than the NHS! That was one of our reasons for returning to the UK having had two bad medial incidents  here. It sounds as if things have improved.
In the pool, reading and playing cards for the rest of the day.

Phew, 38 degrees at 6am!

Mal and Torin were scraping paint off from the outside. My job was collecting the bits! Torin also layed more slabs.

This was in today’s edition of Cyprus Today, it was even more than that here!

We all had a swim and a shower and went to Cano’s Green Palace for dinner. Meze to start and then we all had kleftico which was really good. We did notice all their prices have gone up but the food was good.
