I am really annoyed this morning. They are now releasing tickets for David Essex 2016 tour and he is not coming to Kent!! A disgrace. I have seen him many times at Margate Winter Gardens but obviously not this tour.

We had breakfast and then I left Torin as he had a lot to do after his first week at work.

Ellie was really glad to see me but I think she was missing the others in the afternoon,

We watched the Hammers v Arsenal game, it was a draw.

I think the rain had followed me back home, not the best of days weather wise.

Villa in north Cyprus for sale

We were up early and the sun was out so we went to the orchards as we had Mal’s Wingham allotment money to deliver on the way. A lot warmer today. Because it was early there was still a lot of dew around, so more muddy dogs. They loved chasing the rabbits. Ellie kept putting her head down the rabbit holes!

Mal has a lot to do at his allotments so late morning I drove Millie and Boo back to Torin’s. He was going to come down and collect them but his trip today was to Halifax and back and thought he may be a little tired by the end of it!!  I keep reminding him he has been really ill so isn’t back to full strength yet. It’s no problem for me. The dogs were so pleased to see him.

So, when he did get home we went to the Bangkok Lounge Thai Restaurant. Torin and I both love Thai food. It was a very good meal and then we sat chatting into the early hours.

It is so good to see him feeling better but he has lost an awful lot of weight and still has a bad chesty cough. I have heard so many people who have been ill with this bug and then can’t shake it off for weeks.

We went off to Minnis Bay and I was fooled by the sun into thinking it was Spring. As soon as we were on the beach it was bitterly cold , in fact when we looked it up, the weather said it was real feel MINUS 3!!!! I didn’t put my winter coat on.

They do have fun

The afternoon was much better and we had a lovely walk in the woods with the dogs. Mal did another hour at his allotment. When he goes out Millie just sits at the window and waits for him to come home!

As we were a little tired of soaking wet dogs in the car, for a change we decided to go to Reculver Country Park. It is also Rhys’s birthday tomorrow and as they have Lou’s relatives staying, thought it was a good idea to drop off Rhys’s present which we did. It was so windy and cold as the country park is along the cliff tops.

Ellie , of course, managed to find the only muddy puddle! She jumped into it and then pushed her nose under and threw the muddy water everywhere. Charming dog.

Mal went to his allotment again in the afternoon.

It is very strange weather, one minute it is warm and the sun is out and then it turns cold and pours with rain. Mal made it home just in time before the rain started.

We took the dogs to the beach again quite early.

Later I went to Westwood as I ordered something from H Samuel for Violet’s birthday and I hadn’t received an email to say it was in. When I called in, yes it was there “oh we have a problem with our computers so we haven’t been sending emails”. I asked if they could phone instead. “Oh yes, I’ll do that with the orders we have.” I give up!

Next on to Hobbycraft for a little extra for Violet’s present. What I wanted was 25% off. It said so very clearly along the entire shelf. They tried to charge me full price at the till. I told him it was 25% off and so he said he would have to get the manager. She came to the shelf with me and said”oh they forgot to change the ticket price.” What?!! So I would have to pay full price. I told her I wouldn’t have to, that I don’t like shops who mislead their customers and walked out.

I went to Matalan next and was lucky enough to have the really nice male assistant serve me in there. He is always very friendly and joking. He always has a chat when I go in there. I have actually bought quite a lot of bedding from them. I always bought Marks and Spencer but the last set I bought only about 6 months ago, the piping round the pillow cases has all split. I also bought M&S 5 pack of socks and when I was in Cyprus noticed that the stitching was undone on one. So, without wearing them I took them back to Marks, they want the 5 pairs and where is my receipt?  Three pairs are still in Cyprus, along with the receipt. Surely you can tell by my Sparks card? The answer was no, so I may as well bin a new pair of socks now. I have to say their quality is not what it used to be.

Not what I call a good days shopping!

I heard from Torin in the evening and he is getting on well at the Head Office of his new job.

We went to Minnis Bay with the dogs. They just love it in the sea.

Mal went off to the allotment and I started a big clean up on the house. It needed doing after being away. There is no double glazing in this cottage and the dirt and dust seem to get in everywhere.

Torin started his new job after not working for 6 months following redundancy. He phoned in the evening as he was at the firms head office in the north and said everything was going well. He has taken a massive salary cut but is just happy to be working again.

I think Tris and Mal had a good night chatting. I left them sharing a bottle of whiskey and went to bed. We were still up at 7 and we all went off to Minnis Bay. So many people down there because the sun was out and I suppose some people are still on Easter breaks.

Back home for lunch and late afternoon we took Tris and Violet to Canterbury to catch their train back to London. The dogs were with us so on the way back we took them for a run right over the fields behind Canterbury Golf course.

We watched the end of the Manchester United game.
