Ellie and I were up and out at 5.45. She certainly isn’t a dog for the heat and during the night I had to leave the blower on cold for her as she was panting so much. We have a portable air con unit in the garage but by the time I realised she was hot I wasn’t going to get it and carry it in from the garage.
I went shopping, ready for Charlotte and Torin coming and after such a hot day yesterday it started raining! Mal caught his plane OK and Rhys went to collect him. He arrived home about 4 in the afternoon.
We had some horse brasses that I inherited from my mums and dads pub and so I asked Mal to bring them back as they will look nice in the cottage we are moving to. I also asked if he could fit in our smallest Persian rug. He was stopped at security at Ercan and made to open his case!! I am not sure whether they thought he was stealing antiquities or exporting a rug (that we had bought in the UK)!! I think one of the commemorative Guiness horse brasses convinced him they were not Turkish and Mal told him the rug was the dogs rug and they managed to find a couple of dog hairs on it! In the end they let him and his case through.
Murray is through another round of Wimbledon but the best match so far was Dustin Brown knocking Nadal out.
