A short shopping trip in the morning and three motor cyclists without crash helmets. Two of them on an extremely powerful bike. At least when Torin rode a motor bike he wore full leathers, a helmet and boots and when a car bounced him once, he was still injured and in hospital. It really does turn my stomach when I see them speeding along. I guess nothing will happen to them..ha ha. But it is the law to wear a crash helmet!
We were overcharged in Lemar, Alsancak but when we pointed it out, the cashier apologised (and meant it) and refunded our money straight away. That is certainly better service.
We had a bank account opened when we transferred money over here. It was a sterling account, last used 8 years ago. We thought we would put some more money into that account. When it was originally opened they told us there were no charges apart from when we transferred money. So we went into the bank today to put more money in only to be told the account had been closed. He then printed out a statement showing us all the charges!! They did not tell us the truth when we opened it. All our money gone! I can’t say I am surprised as this is the bank when years ago we transferred £25K, it hadn’t arrived. Imagine how we felt. After 2 hours investigation we were then told “Oh our systems have changed and you have a new account number”. The cashier just opened our book, crossed out the old number and wrote a new account number in! Erm, OK thanks for letting us know so where is our money? We discovered our money was sitting in a bank somewhere in Limassol. Yes, that was a little stressful at the time. I think that was one of the days we sent out for sandwiches and were still sitting in there when the bank had closed! I guess things must have improved since then?!
