Bargain – North Cyprus Holiday and very cheap Weather station

Mal and I left Torin’s and drove to Stansted where we were catching the Atlas Jet flight to Istanbul. We did try and book a Pegasus flight all the way back to Ercan but when we tried to book it they wanted £325 one way EACH!!Ha ha. Well, we were not amused so instead booked Atlas and stayed in Istanbul 2 nights, with our food and hotel, still less than Pegasus! AND on Atlas you get a free meal and drinks! We do love Istanbul.

Atlas Jet fly into Atatürk airport which is much closer to Sultanahmet where we were staying, so on arrival we decided to get a metered taxi. Well, I had forgotten about the motorists in Istanbul, especially the taxi drivers and so spent most of the journey with my eyes shut as he raced in and out of the traffic to the hotel! The journey cost 40tl which we thought was very reasonable.

We were staying at the Erboy Hotel again as it is always very good. We were given iced tea on arrival and told if anything no matter how small was wrong during our stay, to let them know straight away. The service here is amazing and we only paid about £40 for the room! They also gave us a map and asked if there were any places we had not visited and told us the cheapest way to get there.

Having had a meal on the plane, we really didn’t feel like eating any more that evening and so had a wander to the centre of Sultanahmet, stopping for a couple of drinks of course. It is Ramadan and there is always such a lovely atmosphere in Istanbul with families picnicing in the park in the evening and all the extra craft stalls that are there for the whole of Ramadan. Because of the time difference, it was the early hours of the morning when we went to bed.
