Another good value Father’s Day gift (£8 with free delivery) OR a personalised bottle of Whisky

Mal and I were up early and caught the National Express coach to Victoria as we were meeting Tristan, Amanda and Violet at the Natural History Museum. We thought about going to London Zoo but with the unpredictable weather, made a decision that indoors would be better. Of course pensioners rates on Nat Express and free buses around the capital with our bus passes! I do like this being a “senior”!

We had a quick look in the V and A museum first and then met up with them in the Nat History Museum. It was lovely to see them and Violet just loves the dinosaurs. After they went home we went for a wander and were surprised how cheap you can find good food in London. We had a very substantial roast before we left, with a glass of wine included for £7.95…take note North Cyprus! Well, we actually had more than one glass of wine, there are advantages of not driving!

I have to say I was impressed with Harrods windows for the Jubilee, with each window having a cut out with a crown inside it.

It was a dry day and didn’t start raining until we went to catch the coach back to Margate.

A couple of stops picking others up in London and as we arrived at Lewisham Station there was a lady frantically waving her arms in the air for the driver to stop. He commented she wasn’t on his ‘list’ but out of the kindness of his heart and because it was raining he stopped. Well, then the entertainment began.

We happened to be sitting very near the front. The driver asked for her ticket which she refused to show him and then she ‘lost it’ and decided everyone on the coach was racist and we were all getting at her “because I am black”. In particular she picked on a young girl in front of us!  She then continued to shout at everyone on the coach from the front and said she was calling the Police because we were all racist. The driver asked her to leave the bus if she didn’t have a ticket and ended up getting off the bus and calling the Police himself as she refused to leave but continued a non stop rant and was also extremely aggressive. The driver flagged down a passing Police van but they said they couldn’t stop as they had prisoners on board but would send someone else. Imagine this, us parked in the middle of a main road! Almost an hour later, blue lights flashing, a Police car and a Police van. I would have said a Black Maria but the vans are white nowadays!

A Policeman and woman boarded the coach. They asked for her ticket, she said she wouldn’t show it to them and then they asked her to leave the coach. No way was she going to. It was quite entertaining with them trying to get her off and her screaming they were trying to ‘break her stomach’. The policeman told her that was impossible, he was laughing as well as everyone on the coach! Finally she was dragged kicking and sceaming from the coach with her nearly sparking another incident by screaming out “this is because I am black”, with quite a few coloured people gathering around until the Police very cleverly difused the situation by saying she had escaped from a mental home!

It took 4 Police officers to get her in the cell in the back of the van even though she was handcuffed! One of the policeman, who I have to say looked as if he had just left primary school(!) then came on the coach asking what her behaviour was like, sighed and left.

The coach driver was very apologetic, well, it was hardly his fault and we continued our journey an hour late arriving in Margate!
