Bargains – UK Hotel rooms from £39 and Karcher Window vac
Chris came round in the morning and then I met Gwen and we went out for lunch. She had a place in mind but hadn’t been there before. Her neighbours Janet and Brian recommended it. It was in fact the Grand Hotel in Girne. I didn’t remember the name but it was a place we went to with Robin a while back and on that occassion the chef hadn’t turned up so we couldn’t eat there.
Walk down the main road in Girne, just past the cross roads and it is on your right hand side. They have a lovely roof terrace where we ate. I don’t know about their dinner menu but their lunchtime menu is very reasonable and it was good food. So, we had a long lunch and then I drove Gwen back home, stopping at Ileli on the way home where I discovered the first seasons cherries, so I just had to buy some!
I heard from Mal in the evening, rain in the UK!
For those in North Cyprus who are not aware there is a petrol strike on and tonight people were queuing at the garages, blocking the roads, as they do!
