First thing in the morning we heard that Mal’s brother had a stroke so the morning was all a bit chaotic. It’s quite frightening that he is younger than us and then there is also my brother in law who has been suffering from cancer for 3 years and has also had a stroke. You never know what is around the corner, make the most of every day.

Lunchtime we met up with Pauline and Chris at Cafe Boss and had a very delicious lunch together. Pauline had just been to the court helping out a couple who bought here in 2004. Their property was registered and someone has “unregistered” it. Apart from that it still isn’t finished!! Unbelievable on both counts.

The weather forecast was correct, rain and storms. Yes, torrential rain and lots of thunder and lightening. Three of the kittens took shelter on Mal’s chair under the terrace!

Oh my goodness did it rain!! The storms just seemed to keep on going. Of course we kept losing internet and also the predictable power cut.

This has to be the Bargain of the DayQuilted Compact Camera case for £1.40 including delivery, yes, £1.40!! I have already ordered mine but excellent as stocking fillers

Rain in the morning and then it stopped and the sun came out, it reminded me of UK weather when you never know what clothes to put on! Another trip to the dentist, the last for a while with Mal having his teeth cleaned and my new crown fitted. We are both very pleased with Ipek.

We then went to pay my car tax which runs out the end of November. The woman didn’t want to take the money and told us it isn’t due until 1st December. We told her yes we are aware of that but would like to pay it today. She didn’t want to take the money!! It’s no wonder the country is so short of money. Perhaps if they took revenue when it is offered and actually collected in all the taxes due, they would be far wealthier. It just still seems alien to us that you go into a government office and they refuse your money. We did get it in the end, 64tl. It has gone up from last year when it was 57tl!

On the way back we bought some weed killer (animal safe) from Green Garden. It’s called Knock out and is 24tl for a litre and they write the instructions on in English. We also bought Cyprus Today, which also included an article on TRNC Citizen, David Haye about his exploits in I’m a Celebrity…Get me out of here.

So Chelsea have sacked Di Matteo, their NINTH manager under Abramovich. That won’t please Torin. As Chris Evans said “Another Roman Burial at Stamford Bridge”. Ha ha.

Thought for the Day –  “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” ~ Steve Jobs

Mal cut all the hedges  and had to disturb this huge spider who had made his web there.

Margaretha came round to see us, nice to see her as she is so busy and we hadn’t seen her for ages.

Ooops, in the evening we watched Man U v Galatasary. Man U lost! Chelsea lost their game too.

This is an interesting article about Fraud in the TRNC.

A nice sunny day after yesterday afternoons rain. I met up with Sue and we had lunch together at B&I. The food was good and we had a good chat but I have to say that there were an awful lot of flies while we were sitting outside.

We picked some oranges from the garden…delicious!

In the evening we watched the Hammers game, they managed a draw.

Bargains  – North Cyprus 3wk holiday from £299 & Sonicare Electric Toothbrush Half Price & Hilton Hotels 3 course dinner and champagne cocktails for 3 £49

We went for an early morning beach walk, a quiet one as it was the first time we have been back to this beach without Rosie. It was one of her favourite places. Of course, fresh olive bread from Atakara on the way home.

We were having our lunch outside when the rain started and quite heavy it was too.

We talked to the family in Cardiff in the evening and even little Josie came on the phone, bless her.

Off to the dentist again. Mal had a tooth out and a very good plate put in with the new tooth on it, actually 3 new teeth to replace the other two he removed himself! He can’t believe how good it is, as he is now reconsidering implants! Mal’s bill for all this 550tl.  I had to have my new crown fitted but when Ipek fitted it she said she didn’t like the tiny gap between it and the next tooth and so has told the technician to do it again….back again on Wednesday. At least I am pleased she is so particular about it.

We also went by the new Merit Hotel to see what progress they have made…..a lot since the last time we were down there! Just what we need for all these millions of tourists visiting…NOT!!!

On the way home we bought Cyprus Today. I have to say I enjoyed reading Ipek Özerim’s Opinion Column.

In the afternoon we watched the football. Man City, Man U and Tottenham games. Well, the Man City game we didn’t really watch as it became very boring scoring all those goals.
