I went to buy Cyprus Today. I was quite amazed that they have (at last) reported on Kulaksiz 5, front page. But note the apology to THE bank! Part of the article and I quote UBP deputy Mr Tancer

These sorts of actions will damage the reputation of the TRNC in the international arena.”

In my opinion, they have already done that. No further comment, make your own minds up. Oh dear, whoops, it is very dangerous and expensive to have an opinion here!

Ken, author of Jolly Jack’s Castle , and his friends came round to visit. One of his friends asked about buying in the TRNC. Mal’s answer was DON’T!!

We watched the footbal in the afternoon.

If you are in the UK and need a cheap coach ticket.

Friday 2nd March 2012

How nice, a lovely sunny day.

I met up with Sue and Tanya for lunch at Yapraktantuni. It was very pleaseant sitting in the sunshine until one of the waiters pulled the blind over us all!

At the end of our meal we were asked if we wanted Nescafe or tea. I asked if I could have a Turkish coffee and he said no!! I asked why when we were living in TURKISH Cyprus it was becoming more and more difficult to order a Turkish coffee. He shrugged his shoulders and said “Tamam (OK)”. Obviously it is more effort and not many can be bothered. Anyway, I did get my coffee and had enjoyed a very pleasant lunch with good company.

Thought for the Day

Thursday 1st March 2012

All the heating on first thing in the morning. It was 4.5 degrees when we walked Rosie. The sun came out later and was very pleasant but the air temperature didn’t warm up that much!

At least the snow had almost disappeared on the mountain behind our house.

For those of you who have been following the continuing disgusting saga of Kulaksiz 5 residents an update. Just how much power do Akfinans Bank have????

These poor people who bought and paid for their houses in good faith to be treated this way when the temperature is heading for zero degrees.
