Saturday 24th March 2012

This has to be a bargain stay at hotels, many listed, including Bournemouth, Manchester, Folkestone, Gatwick, Scarborough etc. Dinner bed and breakfast AND a bottle of wine! £25! AND up to the end of May. I think the hotels in the UK are getting desperate.

We took Rosie to the beach. There were a couple of lads on bikes down there who seemed fascinated at watching her swimming. On the way back we bought Cyprus Today

We had an easy morning in the sun and then watched the Spurs v Chelsea game and also Man City during which I think Crouch’s goal was goal of the season!

Don’t forget as well as in the UK clocks go forward an hour in Cyprus tonight!

She loves the sea!

Friday 23rd March 2012

We took Rosie into the ravine first thing. She just loves paddling in the water down there. I can’t say I love it as she gets muddy but that’s dogs for you.

It still amazes me the depth the water cut in to what used to be the footpath we walked along. You can see how deep it is in the photo. All I keep hearing from people in the UK is about their water shortages! Perhaps this cheap water butt would help!! A shame they don’t sell them here.

This has to be a bargain too River Cruise through Oxford

Mal and I then went shopping. I have let the freezer run down since the power cuts and the fact we were going away. So, it was a massive shop, two trolley loads.  Gwen and the KAR ladies were outside Lemar, so a couple of tins in their donation trolley and then a catch up with them. On the way back we stopped at the vets to get Rosie some more of her pain killers. It wasn’t until we arrived home we realised it was a 30 tablet pack and we paid the same price as we had previously paid for a 20 pack!

The latest on Pauline Read. Reading it I wonder what happened to the “duty of care”. I don’t think they are aware of that phrase here.

As you will realise I take my camera everywhere I go and so Mal has started a website of some of my photos which will continually be added to – Daily Images.

This used to be the footpath!

Today’s bargain, if you need a cheap £9 room in London. OR do you want to book a Shearings discount holiday?

Well, glorious weather again and a weeks weeds to catch up with! Mal had been composting around the fruit trees and weeding all around them. Our home made compost is doing well.

In the evening we caught up with our downloaded ‘Upstairs Downstairs’.

Wednesday 21st March 2012

Now, for anyone wanting a hotel in the UK between 29th June and 3rd September, this has got to be a good deal! Some excellent locations including Ascot and also Manchester airport which may be handy for some. Hotels for £19

For those of you following Pauline Read ADA TV

Lots of gardening to do and we spent most of the day in the sun getting on with it!

Tuesday 20th March 2012

It is so unlike Mal and I not to make the most of any situation which is why we overlooked things at the beginning of the holiday but by the end we gave up laughing and “making the most” of it!

Back home, a comfortable bed and down to the beach with Rosie and she was really ready for a good swim and swam in the water before we even threw the ball.

It was such a lovely day, all the holiday washing done and dried!

M & S Bargain sale is now on!

Rosie, back in the swim

Monday 19th March 2012

Well, a holiday that started well, I have to say we were both ready to leave, the first time this has ever happened to us. We have stayed at this hotel twice before and it was excellent. I don’t know what went wrong with the hotel this time.

We packed, had breakfast and waited to leave. Of course the housekeeping lady was waiting for her tip as soon as we left the room!

We won’t be returning to this hotel. I think Mal has summed it up nicely Sherwood Breezes

As soon as we arrived home we collected Rosie from the kennels. She was very happy to see us!

Happy to be leaving Antalya!

Sunday 18th March 2012

Well, sadly as time went on, we became less and less impressed with the attitude of the staff and the lack of facilities, places that should have been open and weren’t.

In fact we wanted to go home, had enough!  Never mind our last night and we would go to the Sherwood pub, the adults only bar…..CLOSED! We had already established that in spite of the receptionist telling us another bar was open and us going back to take a photo to show her it wasn’t, there was only one bar open which meant everyone queued and then there were no seats left!

ANOTHER bar closed
