2nd April 2011

Mal and I went shopping in the morning, more membrane for the garden and all the food shopping. Cyprus Today see link

Just after we arrived back home Torin came on the webcam with Scarlet and Jack. They are so sweet and as one picture shows, they were kissing each other…..ahhh! They also kissed the web cam ‘to give Nanny a kiss’. The pictures aren’t brilliant, for some reason our internet connection is rubbish over the weekends.

We had lunch and as I said in yesterday’s post, the weather had turned. The rain came and the wind was unbelievable. Things started blowing around outside and as we were collecting watering cans etc, the wind just ripped three out of four of our screens tied to the railings around the pool. They were suddenly ripped to shreds.  Blowing a gale was an understatement. The wind and rain stopped just as suddenly as it started. It is a bit like British weather at the moment, changeable! It seems we were not the only area struck by mini tornadoes, some people had glass tables  smashed and many other things blown into their pools. I can’t imagine trying to get all that broken glass out of a pool, so perhaps with ripped to pieces screens, we came off lightly.

We watched the Hammers v Man U game. Mal was ecstatic in the first half, not the second 4-2 to Man U! Poor Hammers back in the drop zone.

We should have guessed, as soon as the game finished Rhys and co were on the webcam…their team beating Grandads. They were on for 2 hours.
