A beautiful morning early down at the beach. I then went to buy Cyprus Today see link. An interesting article about Çahit (Jack) refusing to pay at the beach. We  bought our rescued olive trees from him. After all his efforts to rescue them he returned to the UK. If you notice in the article they say “citizens”. Not much hope for any of us then.

Something I discovered online, the Little Lifesaver Guide see link. It’s a passport size printable personalised travel tips guide to store key details. It’s well worth printing out and it is FREE!

Tuesday 16th August 2011

In the morning after taking Rosie, Mal was grouting the slabs around the pool and I was cleaning up the garden.

What a coincidence I was mentioning the houses in Incesu the previous day. Mal and I were having lunch when we saw signs of life over there. Of course we don’t have a clue who they were but it is a long time since we have seen anyone there.

Monday 15th August 2011

A little cooler and a nice breeze.

Robin came round for a meal in the evening. It wasn’t orange juice Mal and Robin were drinking in the photo, they were Harvey Wallbangers but I think the ratio of vodka was higher than the ratio of orange!

Christa is due over the next day. Robin has a problem with his house, as so many others do here but it seems so many are just ignoring the fact that there may be a mortgage on their property and they don’t have their title deeds. I really fail to see how they can just ignore it.

Whilst back in the UK we watched ‘Homes from Hell’ and one of the ‘Homes from Hell’ was one of the properties in front of us and to the right in Incesu. We both thought the programme was very weak. No naming and shaming in the slightest when they had the opportunity. All the people on that site have lost so much money.

Sunday 14th August 2011

Today was Bev’s birthday so we went down to see her and wish her Happy Birthday. Her grandchildren have grown so much in a year! Callum and friends were otherwise entertained with games.

The weather is a bit cooler, at least a bit of a breeze.

We watched the football in the afternoon. Chelsea drew and Man U won but I did feel a little sorry for De Gea. Van der Saar is a huge act to follow and De Gea is only twenty years old.

Happy Birthday to my American friend Glenda who is 60 today. She lives very near to Nashville.

I went to buy Cyprus Today see link. A lack of “news” in there again. Unless you were out at a party and have your photo in there, then perhaps we can save you the 2tl!

David and Kenny invited us over for lunch. Colleen and Seren were there too.  Purely by chance, Seren brought the main course and I took a cherry trifle and of course Kenny cooked the main course so it was a huge lunch. We had suitable gaps between the courses. A bit like and American supper only difference we stayed in the one house. When we lived in a tiny hamlet in the UK we did this but walked from house to house for each course. It’s a good idea because then one person doesn’t have to do the lot.

It was a lovely afternoon with good company and for once the work had stopped behind their house so we could talk! Thank you David and Kenny.

Friday 12th August 2011

I met up with Sue, Joan and Ingrid at Haci Ali’s for lunch. It really is a lovely setting there and at the moment you can buy a 10tl Privilege card and then receive 20% off anything at the hotel. Local drinks are 4tl and then 20% off that, so well worth it.

We had an ‘interloper’ who wanted to join in the pictures but he didn’t join us for lunch! We had a good lunch and a lot to talk about.

The continuing saga of www.thebox.bz! I am writing this here as I know a lot of others use this to download TV programmes. In the evening I again tried to explain that it could not possibly have been me at the date and time I was accused of trying to make another account. I could not believe the messages that followed when all I was doing was explaining that I travel a lot and when visiting friends and relatives, obviously use their ISP.

“Thank you for the information. This makes it even more ridiculous as the time stated I was on a cruise ship  during which period I had no internet access and the laptop I use was with me.

The IP  is Virgin media which we could not have access to on a cruise in the Mediterranean.  We have used virgin media at a friends house in the UK so what I believe has happened is that we have been allocated a temporary IP address which at a later date has been allocated to some other Virgin media user.

Or to put it even simpler, I nor any of my family have tried to set up another account.

If you doubt this please look at the link to my blog

So what you are saying is, I am telling lies, oh well, I am passing this matter on to admins, Please do not contact me anymore on this matter.”

I decided I really ought to speak to admins too, so copied the correspondence.

Next message from Bobuk

Erm, WTF, I told you I was passing this on to Admins
Private messages are supposed to be just that PRIVATE
Carry on and I will disable your account for masking your IP in the past.

He was simply not listening to me.

I then wrote:
” How are you really able to speak to an old age pensioner in that way?

What are you afraid of admin people seeing may I ask, that is so private…your unsubstantiated accusations of me calling you a liar? I don’t see I have said that anywhere.

Now I am accused of masking my IP.

I was trying to tell you an error has been made, that is all. Your accusations are incorrect.

You were just ignoring facts I have given you and so obviously I would like to contact someone who will listen.

I find your attitude thuggish in a time when London streets appear to be full of people of your ilk who mask their identities and feel they are a law unto themselves.

If it really makes you feel happy upsetting a pensioner in this way then feel free to close my account of many years standing.

Depending  upon your actions, your PRIVATE messages may not be as PRIVATE as you had hoped.

All actions have consequences as is being learned in the London courts today.”

Again I tried to explain. I travel a lot and I gave him Extend’s ISP to check out and that it is in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. I shouldn’t have wasted my time because he blocked my messages going to him and also blocked the email when I emailed that. No one to talk to!

So, if you use www.thebox.bz and travel around with your laptop, you may be accused of a similar misdemeanour and they won’t listen to your explanations. BE WARNED!!

I have contributed money to them and was about to again as my ratio had reduced because of the slow speed here. I am now rethinking this decision depending on how I am treated in the future.

Thursday 11th August 2011

David had a major problem with his laptop and so Mal and I went over there. Mal to fix it and me to have coffee! We had a good catch up as well.

Another of my cactus has produced a 24 hour flower. It is such a shame they don’t last any longer.

A very strange thing has been happening. I download UK TV programmes from www.thebox.bz. I know it’s sad but I always download Eastenders so I can oggle David Essex. Having returned to the TRNC I discovered I had a warning.

“You have received a 4 weeks warning from bobuk

Reason: do NOT try to make another account again or you WILL be banned”

Excuse me but I have never tried to make another account! In messages that followed I had allegedly carried out this action on Tuesday 19th July, just around the time we were eating dinner on the cruise ship.  Of course I informed Bobuk of this and sent him a link to this diary for the date verifying where I was. My lap top was in our cabin and I hardly think someone else was in there trying to open another account whilst we were having dinner! I guessed this would now clear the matter up.
