Rosie and I were up and out early again, mainly as the temperatures are reaching about 35 degrees and it would be too hot to walk any later. The view of the sunrise shining on the sea was spectacular. Worth getting up early to see.
Back home and it seems we are again surrounded by building. Perhaps one summer it will stop. At least our end of Malatya will look pretty good when it is all finished.
I went into Dodgy Turk to sort out my standing order payments as my previous card expired. No problem, the girls were very helpful. I reached Girne a lot quicker than expected as now the new bypass is open, the traffic is far less on the Girne road. I also called into the KAR shop to see Gwen. Shopping on the way back to collect fresh fruit and vegetables at far cheaper prices than the UK and far tastier I hasten to add. Tomatoes 1tl a kilo..that’s more like it and they are so tasty!
The screens around our pool have torn and so I brought some more back from the UK. They only had red and white ones left so until the sun fades them it looks a bit like Margate sea front! In the evening I was replacing the first one when our new neighbour from below our garden came calling to find out exactly where our boundary is…here we go again! I wonder how many tapus this time. BUT at least with this boundary, from the original map we have with the plots marked, it is obvious that we own up to the drop. I think Sergay had the impression that the land at the front that Mal has not yet had time to clear, belonged to him. I explained that it was not cleared because Mal is doing it bit by bit.
Ingrid told me that while I was out in the morning five workmen were leaning against the kennel wall, obviously to fix the leaking pipe. Rosie and my evening walk revealed that yes they have done more than tie a piece of polythene around it but not sure what lies beneath the soil they layed over it!
