I just couldn’t believe the weather. Mal and I got soaked just trying to put our things in the car and the car door nearly blew away! Car loaded and we set off for High Wycombe . The wind and torrential rain was so bad that at times we had to stop on the motorway. Not just us, everyone just came to a standstill. A lorry also just pulled out in front of me. lucky we weren’t squashed into the crash barrier. It really was a horrendous journey. Marion had lunch ready for us as we arrived (far later than we expected). We had lunch and then Marion and I walked round to the charity shop that she volunteers at. We bought a few things and then as soon as we left to walk home the heavens opened. We got totally soaked with the HAIL!
Marion cooked us a lovely meal in the evening and then Bryan and Mal sloped off to the pub. Bryan is having chemo and I think he was glad of the break. The pair of them then came back saying they had ‘pulled’!! Four drunken women who wanted to dance with them. Bryan said he couldn’t, as he has had an operation recently, so he lifted his jumper to show them his enormous scar! It made him laugh, so good on him as he is having a really bad time of it. It was good to see him laugh. Life can become very serious and I think he was relieved by the light relief of Mal!
