Tuesday 3rd October 2023

I had an ophthalmic appointment at Buckland Hospital in Dover. I have to be honest, I didn’t even know this hospital existed! So Ellie and I went for our walk in the drizzle, got Mal his breakfast and then I went to Dover.

I was early for the appointment but they called me straight in. They then explained the doctors were all on strike so they would complete all the tests, pass me to the technician and then when the consultants are back, they will contact me. I did think the hospital was very quiet when I walked into reception.

In the afternoon I uprooted my 5 remaining tomato plants in the garden and collected the last of the tomatoes. I really must make time to go to the allotments and collect some vegetables from there.

I need to book all my vaccinations but Sandwich health centre is booked until the end of the month, so I have booked the first one, Covid elsewhere on Saturday.

Mal was very sleepy again, it’s going to be quite some lengthy recovery.
