We went into Girne, along the bypass and then hoping to drive back along the main road…they fooled us again, this time coming from the bypass and turning left at the roundabout, you can’t! A huge hole in the road just there, a quick diversion and we were back on the main road but goodness is it lumpy now where the roadworks have been. They are not very good in the art of levelling roads once they have been dug up.
We popped into Lemar on the way back. A pack of three kitchen towel rolls for 2.95tl. Mal even checked the bar code to ensure we had the correct price. Yes, you guessed it, arrived at the till and it went through at 4.50tl. I queried the price and was told no I was wrong. No doubt about it I was wrong. By now two cashiers insisting I was wrong. Mal then took one of the cashiers over to the shelf to show her in fact they were wrong. Then we had the normal look of what a pain we were querying a price when they knew best…no they didn’t. The manager was called, the money deducted off the bill, NO apologies whatsoever and then the cashier insisted she keep my till receipt, erm no, I wanted to check the rest of my bill. I really don’t know why we bothered going in Lemar, same old story. We then went on to Ileli to do the bulk of our shopping, smiles from the staff and of course charged the correct amount for all our shopping and given the correct change.
I know mistakes can be made but their attitude in Lemar stinks!
Lou sent me a photo of Josie, my how she is growing. She now has her first tooth.
Thought for the day : “Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming ‘WOW What a Ride!'” — Unknown
