I headed for work and the car warning lights started coming on again. I stopped and they went away and then came back on further down the road. A bit of a joke as I drove it to Faversham and back the previous day, no problem! I wasn’t risking it, so I turned round with the red light still on and went home. I had to ring Jack and apologise I wouldn’t be in work. I also had to cancel my maxillofacial appointment for tomorrow. All being well, my “new to me ” car should be ready on Wednesday then hopefully no more stress.
Today we decided on the car I want and the garage offered a trade in, very little as the car is old and done a lot of miles. The car should be ready on Wednesday. But of course I have to get the car there somehow.
Then the most unlikely thing happened. They are digging up our road to install super Virgin Media computer stuff, have been for a few days. The guy came again today to ask if I could move the car. Mal joked with him and said “maybe”. They got chatting and he offered the same amount that the garage was offering for part X!! I told him the warning lights came on as it was being driven, power was being lost etc etc. He just said that he would go and get the cash! He does cars up and had none on the go at the moment. He brought the cash back, filled in all the forms, we cancelled our insurance…deal done. One less thing to think about.
Next thing, I have had ear ache all weekend and it is getting more painful, so I phoned the medical centre . Yes ages until they answered and then they told me to go round to see the pharmacist. I walked all the way round there and was told the surgery is wrong as ear problems are only dealt with by the pharmacist for 1 – 17 year olds. I walked back to the surgery and it was…..’ well you better phone in the morning or go to a walk in centre. Dover, Deal or Canterbury!!’ Oh yeah I am going to all of those, no car and they are not on a bus route. Or I could ring 111, oh yea when Mal’s GP told him never to call them! Hopeless. What a crazy world we are living in. The final thing they said was “queue in the morning at 8am as you won’t get through on the phone!”
Back home and paracetamol.
We watched the best Euro match so far in the evening. France v Austria.
