Drizzling rain for our walk  but Ellie enjoyed it.

In the afternoon I met up with Pam, Ali and Linda (some of Kent Lavender Ladies – our new Red Hatters group. We went to St Lawrence College Theatre in Ramsgate. The Police Panto was on. We go every year and the cast love to see us there and always mention us during the panto. It is nice to go as the Police put the panto on to raise money for local charities. Today was Treasure Island.

We were out early before the rain was due to start.

The mini daffodils I planted in front of Torin’s grave are in full bloom and look lovely.

Then the rain started. Mal wouldn’t be going to the allotment and so we have been debating a new bed for a while and so decided to just go and investigate. Much to our surprise, we bought one! They even let us lie on it….didn’t think you would be allowed to do that since Covid but he said no problem! They even made us a cuppa while they were doing the paperwork. He also said he would take the old bed away no charge, not charge for delivery and also gave us free insurance! Can’t be bad.

The Cancer research shop where I volunteer has been refurbished and it was the first day of opening. The place looks much nicer and the till has been re-sited in a much better position.

All the customers were coming in saying how lovely it looked.

It did BUT, as we know everything doesn’t always go smoothly. The till wouldn’t work. It had been moved form one side of the shop to the other. Lights were on but it wouldn’t function. Jack called Head Office as soon as someone would answer. They would get someone out “within the next 48 hours! “! What?! So, I had to write down everything I sold and with all the bought in goods, including even the cards for 99p, I had to write their individual 5 figure code down! A busy day.

The engineer/technician arrived in the afternoon and played around with it for an hour and a half , getting in my way and then declared that he couldn’t fix it. He sent for a new one to couriered and he would fit it if it arrived by 4pm. It didn’t.

We heard from “little” Torin, our grandson who lives in Norfolk and he and Lizzy are now expecting a baby , so we will be great grandparents again! The baby is due in August.

A walk around the orchards in between the showers. Of course the apple trees aren’t budding yet.

We had a video call from Rhys and he showed us around their new home. Of course they have a lot to sort out but they are in at last.

A very good game in the afternoon Hatters v Man Utd. Such a shame Hatters didn’t win but they fought hard. Rhys and I have said we will go and watch Hatters one day, for old times sake.

We went to Wingham woods and orchards. It makes you think Spring is on the way as the apricot trees are blossoming.

We stopped off at the farm shop, apples , salad and a couple of plants.

Not a good afternoon for football both Spurs and Hammers lost.

A walk around Sandwich, with Ellie chasing moles. She did catch one once!

I think they are quicker than her nowadays. A sunny afternoon, heated the conservatory to very hot!

Rhys is now in the middle of moving. We have offered to help but he says they are OK, the kids are helping as it is half term. What a nightmare moving is!
