Saturday 7th January 2023

I had an Ocado delivery first thing and then Ellie and I went to the Beach Buddies at St Mildred’s Bay. There were two goldie puppies there today and they seemed to really like Ellie. One of them was only 4 months old (Noodle, the one with the lead on).

Ellie ran all over the place and it is difficult to keep track of your own dog when there are another 20 of them!

Later I went into Deal as Ellie slept!  I made sure I was back in time for the Spurs game. Yes! We won 1-0

Hammers managed a win as well.

Friday 6th January 2023

Ellie and I were up early and over the fields and watching the sun rise. I have to say it was really muddy over there.

I met up with Jackie, Pat and Pam as we have decided to have a committee for our Hatters group. We had a lovely lunch together and then got down to the organising business and sorted a lot out. Very worthwhile.

Thursday 5th January 2023

Mal was off to this brothers as it is his 70th birthday this week. I dropped him off in Canterbury to catch the coach (no trains running). Ellie was in the car and so we walked around the woods and orchards on the way home.

I came home and cleaned up the garden, which is covered in Christmas tree bits.

In the evening I caught up with some missed TV.

Wednesday 4th January 2023

For a change, we went to Margate. Dreamland is still there, used recently in a film, “Empire of Light.”

Now the festivities are over, time to call the dentist as the letter from Maxillofacial should have arrived. My copy came just before Christmas. I envisaged an argument  with me saying that I had to see my dentist before April when I have to return to Maxillo. None of it, she has given me an appointment for extractions later this month. Oh no, I didn’t expect that!

We had a choice either to watch the Hammers game or Spurs. I think we were both a little nervous but Mal said to watch Spurs. I am glad we did they won 4-0!!

Tuesday 3rd January 2023

There was an item on the TV all about guide dogs. Mal and I ended up crying during it! But as before, I am still considering becoming a puppy raiser for them. It is just whether we could hand them back after a year! Meanwhile I am sponsoring Grace, a goldie guide dog in the making.

We took Ellie to Kearsney . We were talking to another couple  who had a Labrador with them and Ellie just left us and made her own way down to the stream! She does love playing in water. It doesn’t matter how cold the day is.

We went to the cafe for a hot chocolate as well.

In the afternoon Mal started chopping up the Christmas tree which he will take to the allotment bit by bit.

Monday 2nd January 2023

I went into work at the Cancer research shop. We thought we were going to be closed as it was a bank holiday but the area manager wanted us open.  Jack said no pressure to go in but I wanted to get back to some sort of normality. We weren’t busy and there were very few other shops open. But we all had a good catch up in between customers.

Sunday 1st January 2023

Wishing all my readers a very Happy Healthy 2023

We drove into Deal and had a nice walk to Walmer along the sea front.

Back to Deal and we had a coffee in the Royal Hotel.

Then home and dropped the car off and then walked to the Red Cow for a lunchtime drink. Ellie is so good and just makes herself at home. We played a mini pin ball game!

I am not sure why we dashed home from the pub to watch Spurs, an awful game!
