It is Jack’s birthday next week, so we dropped something off at the shop for him.  All the posts around Birchington town have characters on them and the post boxes have entire seaside scenes!

We  then went on to Minnis Bay. It was windy and a lot of seaweed had been brought in with the strong waves. The Warden was sweeping them all off the paths. It was very windy on the beach and seeing as this is summer holidays….nobody there, only dog walkers.

We sat outside the Waves cafe and had a coffee. This is Ellie after her swim.

Our lunchtime salad, lettuce, cucumber and radishes from the allotment and tomatoes from the garden. Mal has another 15 tomato plants at the allotment. Mine seem to be ripening before his. We have eaten so many already!

Wednesday 2nd August 2023

We went to do a meet and greet with Jaye and Lea. They own Barney the golden retriever we looked after. We have booked Ellie in with them for our October holiday. It was funny Ellie ran in and both Barney’s and Ellie’s tails didn’t stop wagging all the time we were there. They also have a huge park right opposite their house where they take the dogs. I am sure they will be really good for Ellie.

After visiting the house we took Ellie for a run in the park.

We did a bit of shopping on the way home and then Mal went to meet a hairdresser who wants to use a room at the Jubilee  Centre. I think she is going to start in September. At least there is a lot of interest in the centres use.

Tuesday 1st August 2023

We walked Ellie along the river, so many ducks this morning. Thankfully a lot of the ducklings have survived the crows and seagulls.

We went to view a bungalow not far from our house. It had a larger garden but we didn’t get the right vibes when we walked in. We both know what we like and that was not it!

I then watched the Lionesses, a very good game and they won 6-1. Mal went to his art class.
