Saturday 9th July 2022

We dropped Ellie off at Rhys and Lou’s and then Lou drove us to the station. A day in London and it was very  busy. We had a picnic in St James’s Park for our lunch. The main purpose was to go and see Tina Turner the Musical and what a fantastic show it was. The energy of the cast was amazing.

After the show we had a wander around Covent Garden.

We had dinner in a noodle bar and then caught the train home. It seems Marlene and Ellie are getting used to each other and playing together.

Friday 8th July 2022

I had to go shopping, too hot for shopping but managed to find some white linen trousers I have been looking for and also some sandals and socks for Mal (not to be worn together!) It was a very quick shop!

The afternoon watching Norrie. A good attempt winning the first set but final defeat.

Thursday 7th July 2022

Tariq came home for a short time, he has nearly finished his training. We are all very proud of how far he has come.  It was so lovely to see him, we always have so much to talk about. I should have been going to Hatters lunch but family come first, so I cancelled that and instead we went out to lunch at the George and Dragon.

I had made a trifle (his favourite) so he came back and had some and took the rest home!

He is back to camp tomorrow, at least he made time to come and see us bless him.

Wednesday 6th July 2022

We were up early and drove to Kearsney Abbey, before all the traffic got on the road. Ellie loves paddling in the streams especially in this hot weather.

In the evening we met up with Tris and Violet. Tris had booked a table at the Buoy and Oyster, a seafood restaurant in Margate.  My food was good but Mal wasn’t too impressed. It has a good reputation and is in a good position overlooking the beach.

Monday 4th July 2022

Lou and Rhys’s 12th wedding anniversary so we took their present and card over and from there went on to Reculver for our walk with Ellie. We tried to keep her off the long grass but she kept running in there with her  ball! We really don’t want seed heads in her ears/eyes or paws.

In the afternoon I watched Kyrgios v Nakashima, a good match. Then of course Nadal’s win!

Sunday 3rd July 2022

We took Ellie to the allotment and picked lots of fruit as Lou and Rhys were coming over.

As soon as they arrived, along with Josie, we walked into town for another Folk and Ale day. Ollie and Oscar were busy doing their car cleaning round. They are doing so well at it and making a lot of money towards their holiday.

We had both dogs with us and started off having some lunch at Quayside Kitchen, really tasty food.

It didn’t seem quite as busy around town as the previous day.

We ended up in the Market Inn for a few drinks and then on to the Red Cow to sit in their garden.

We had a lovely day.

Back home and watched Alcaraz leave Wimbledon. That’s a shame.

Saturday 2nd July 2022

We took Ellie to St Mildred’s Bay again for frolics with all the other Golden Retrievers at the Beach Buddies. She has so much fun as they run in and out of the water and chase around the beach.

I think Ellie wore herself out so in the afternoon we left her sleeping and went round to the Sandwich Folk and Ale. It is so nice that it is back after all this time.

More tennis, I watched the Kyrgios. A bit of a lively match!
