The day at Demelza. I waited for the normal bus, it didn’t turn up!

The huge Christmas market has taken over Canterbury, that and the dismal wet weather we didn’t have a good day. The trouble is our shop is not on the main drag and now the market stalls are much more attractive. Hopefully it is just the novelty that all the stalls are new.

Mal had dinner ready when I arrived home. Ellie was in her favourite position, in her favourite place! What a life she has.

We walked Ellie, still sunny but a bit cooler. Then back home and I prepared lunch for Lou and the kids. Rhys had an airport run and so couldn’t come but I packed up his lunch for Lou to take home!

After three courses of lunch we were all full up and so took Ellie out with us and went for a walk by the river and in the park.

A nice sunny day and so we took Ellie to Minnis Bay. It’s dog heaven down there. So  many dogs for her to play with.

There were a lot of swans and geese on the wing.

Mal went to the allotment, we still have raspberries, this is a very unusual year weatherwise. I planted a couple of pots I bought at the garden centre the other day. After all her running around Ellie slept!

Mal’s discussion about dogs being allowed at Gazen Salts continued on FB! He won’t ever give up. Someone then suggested that dogs weren’t allowed on the field next door. Yes they were he replied and I will be down there in an hour with my dog off lead!  He certainly won’t give up for justice. Well, Ellie does love her runs along the top of the river bank next to the field!

I went shopping and managed to get a couple more Christmas presents. It has started…the Christmas mayhem, Westwood was packed!

In the evening we watched Children in Need and I was pleased to see Demelza’s Chief Exec on there and some children talking about how Demelza had helped them. However, later something came on that was too upsetting so we turned it of.

We took Ellie for a walk, we are so lucky to live in such a beautiful town with such lovely walks.

Over by the nature reserve we met our next door neighbour Bob with his two dogs who Ellie loves playing with . They chased round and round and then Bob gave them water and biscuits!

Ellie spent most of the rest of the day sleeping!

I had to make the final deposit payments for our Demelza Christmas dinner,  coincidentally Punch Tavern, where we are having the dinner had emailed me a voucher for 50% off mains. So, we decided to have lunch. Mal went to the bar to order and they apologised but their till wasn’t scanning the offer so they would have to give us staff discount! I don’t know why they were apologising as we had a better deal. We had two carveries, two drinks and two deserts for £15! AND it was very nice.

We stopped at the garden centre on the way home and bought a rose, blackcurrant bush and a new pot.

Mal is on a crusade.  I saw this on Facebook.

This morning there was no sign on the gate but now there is and it says NO dogs. Previously people said dogs should be banned from the reserve. Mal looked into it at the time and discovered no one has a right to ban them as it is owned by Dover District Council and they clearly state, dogs ARE allowed on leads. He has done no more than contacted DDC and they are going to send someone tomorrow to remove the sign!!

I am battling with Groupon at the moment about two errors (both theirs). Their chat system does not work, they have standard answers they repeat. I have now moved up the line and they seem to have lost all my transcripts of chats. A good thing I haven’t lost my copies…lol!

We had a lovely long walk with Ellie, the sun was out and the trees looked so pretty and autumnal.

I then donned the purple and Red Hat and went along to the BelleVue , Pegwell for our Hatters lunch. We are starting to make plans for next year.

This is our Queenie, Jackie and I am her vice, and as I was previously Princess Margaret, I am now Princess of Vice!!

In the evening we went over to see Marion, Mal’s sister as it was her birthday.

At last the sun was out. A good thing as I have three machine loads of washing to dry. Yes, we have a tumble dryer but it smells nicer from fresh air!

I went shopping and the shops were surprisingly quiet.
