We took the dogs out quite early and then I went shopping. I had a bit of a wobble because I knew if Torin was here, he would be coming down for the bank holiday weekend. I miss him so much.

In the afternoon Maddie and River came to visit and stayed for dinner. It was nice to see them both. Maddie is doing her teacher training.  We ate outside but then it started getting a little chilly, the first time in a long while. Summer may be fading away.

We took the dogs out and then had arranged to go to the zoo.  My sister and my niece and family were on their way to Belgium for a holiday but were stopping off for the day before continuing their journey tomorrow. The kids like the zoo, well, we do too. Mal and I renewed our annual tickets. It is well worth it for us.

The very beautiful Arina(my favourite) was outside.

A lot of the animals were inside when it started to rain. We had taken a picnic and had to take shelter when it did start raining.

Further round we saw the new tiger which has arrived from London Zoo, for their breeding programme. This one was much more aggressive than Arina, even though it was being hand fed lumps of meat.

After the zoo, back to ours and they all wanted to see Mal’s allotment.

We rounded off the evening eating fish and chips on the quay. They do the BEST fish and chips! Marion and co then headed off to Folkestone.

I was glancing through forthcoming events at the local theatres and discovered Fairport will be on at the Gulbenkian next February. So, I booked the tickets. They could have only just been released as we have front row in the middle!

I went to lunch with the Red Hatter girls. Two new ladies started with us, Lin and Pauline. Lin lives very close to me, in Ash, so that will possibly be handy in the future.

We ate at Cliftonville Bowling Club and planned quite a few more events for the future.

Unfortunately Jean was not well enough to join us. We do miss her.

Every morning I am woken up by the gulls. It used to be at 4 am but it’s not so bad now the mornings are darker. I always have the window open and the babies, who are now as huge as the parents, just don’t stop squawking. I suppose we should be grateful that they don’t seem to have noticed that we eat outside! They don’t seem to disturb Mal.

We walked the dogs and then I went to town on my own. It’s a short walk.

Mal went to collect more from the allotment. There are a lot of marrows and squash.

A day at Demelza. A nice busy day, we had a lot to do and a lot of customers. Jack said it made up for the shops bad week last week.

As usual I bought several things, I am thinking extras for Christmas….I have a lot to buy for!

We walked the dogs. They love meeting all the other dogs out and about.

A bit of work in the garden. The palms are planted and the bay trees repotted. Mal also took all my strawberries out and all the runners and took them to the allotment where he had the bed waiting for them.

In the evening I watched Mama Mia, I needed something lively to watch.

Mal spent most of the day tweeking my new computer. I walked into the town and then spent the afternoon in the garden, apart from watching Spurs play…another win.
