This morning’s long walk was from Minnis Bay. It was really warm and of course Ellie loved it in the sea.

In the afternoon I went into Canterbury, as usual the traffic was horrendous. I had to buy some hot cross buns and Marks and Spencer have every variety you could imagine. I didn’t buy too many!!

Mal went to his allotment.

I managed to catch up with ‘Happy Valley’ in the evening.

Mal and I were out with Ellie, doing my 10.000 steps. Third day now. It really looks as though Spring has sprung while we have been away. I even saw the first bluebells.

Ellie loved seeing all her horsey friends.

I have to say that I always look forward to meeting up with the Red Hatter Ladies. We are the Krimson Krinklees chapter. In the afternoon we were partaking in Afternoon Tea at The Comfort Inn , Ramsgate. It was all very lady like  with bone china cups and saucers and tiered cake plates. Very civilised but sadly Pauline and Jean were unable to join us. I do hope you get well soon Jean. We had a lovely afternoon but didn’t get around to planning much for the future, so we are going to meet again in two weeks for lunch.

Well it was all happening in the morning. Torin was coughing a lot of the night, serious coughing and then waking up not being able to breathe properly. I guess the antibiotics will kick in soon. Then Karen phoned, Scarlet had just had one of her “episodes” and she was waiting for the ambulance, so can we collect Jack from school. A good thing we have just had a holiday!

Today is the day I start my week of 10,000 steps a day for charity!! So a very long walk all over the common, a good excuse to walk the dogs again.

Then I did a big house clean obviously Torin has been ill for about a week now and has had no energy to do anything.

Later we went to the school to collect Jack and took him home. We had a password to tell his teacher as we hadn’t been to the school before, she didn’t even ask, I guess Jack was shouting that’s my nanny and grandad as he was the first one out!!

Scarlet was out of hospital by the time we arrived home but felt very tired. Bless her.

We woke up early only to discover that Torin had to be taken to the emergency doctors last evening as he couldn’t breath and as I have said he is really ill. So, he has a chest infection, severe bronchitis and flu. He was coughing most of the night and also being sick. So, today Mal and I took the dogs out as they are used to very long walks which they haven’t been having. Millie needs her energy running off as anyone who knows Springer Spaniels will know.

I then went to shop as Torin hasn’t been able to go out for 5 days. We popped round to see Scarlet and Jack in the afternoon while Torin slept. I have now turned into nurse/nagging mum! He is hardly eating or drinking. I also caught up with some of his washing etc. He has been in a bad way and on his own.

The weather was really overcast when we woke up, it must be time to go home!!

It may be dull but we went out for a walk.We packed our things and the taxi arrived to take us to Antalya airport, terminal 1 as this was a domestic flight as we had to change at Istanbul.  We were told that our plane was going to be delayed for three hours, which would really mess up our connection at Istanbul. Then the guy told us he would change our tickets to an earlier flight but that was also delayed. We then discovered that EVERY flight to Istanbul had a delay. THEN we discovered what was going on in Istanbul, a suicide bomber, more people dead and injured. How awful. I guess it was all extra security.  Because of all the plane delays we arrived at Torin’s house at 2am.

We went to breakfast and Eyup, our friendly waiter came and had a chat with us. We said it didn’t seem very busy. He told us there are 650 people in the hotel 300 of which are Turkish which is unusual. Are people staying away from Turkey, not just the Russians?

I’ve been in touch with Torin all week, he has some sort of virus and seems to be getting worse by the day. Poor thing.

As I’ve said there are many more Turkish here than usual but I don’t think they have quite the same approach to sunbathing on the beach as we do!!

We spent the afternoon by the pool.

There was a very good show in the evening with Cuban dancers.
