I went to Atakara quite early to buy some olive bread and also Cyprus Today. A waste of 5tl for the paper, there was little of interest in there. The assistant at the till asked me for 12tl and again didn’t ring it up in the till. She was always doing this but then who am I to care any more?
I forgot to mention yesterday that a “sleeping policeman” has been fitted across the road just before you get to Incesu. I laughed so much as I drove over it, the guy who lived in the house next to it laughed too and shrugged his shoulders! I don’t think that is going to contribute much to the country’s road safety as you have to slow down for the bend anyway. In any case all of our road is a total mess. They have dug it up to lay the water pipes and then just covered it over. I’m glad I am driving a hire car! The bottom of our drive is horrendous too, they have even dug up a couple of the reinforcing metal strips we paid to have put into the drive. They have dug up the gardens I have put down by the road and what they don’t realise is where they have dug is our land.
Steve and George came to look at my car. It has been standing for nearly a year because to claim my no claims in the UK, my insurance had to be cancelled here. A very sad day for me when my good old Renault 9 departed. George has just passed his test and wanted a first car. I hope it serves you as well George as it has done me. I think he may take the pink dice down and change the pink flowered seat covers. Sad to see it go. I think that is the longest I have ever had a car….ten years.
Margaretha came round and so we went out to lunch together but we couldn’t decide where and it was suggested Blue Song and so that is where we went, yes we went there last night too. Kerim did do a double take when we walked in!
We have acquired a cat! It may be the black cat we used to feed but there are so many here because the Russian lady opposite won’t have her cats neutered. This one has been trying to get in the house and then sits with us under the terrace and tries to nibble our toes!
