For anyone in the TRNC a poison warning. How can they? I am so glad we brought Ellie back to the UK, as far as I am aware, no random poison and no snakes and she seems to enjoy the weather! We walked her in the morning and as she doesn’t go in the sea, she always finds somewhere equally as wet, even if it is the dew on the grass she can roll in!

A busy morning as we took Ellie for a walk and then Lou and Rhys and the littlies were coming for the day. This is only a little cottage, not an enormous place to entertain. Having said that it has a bigger kitchen than the Acol house, in fact we had to put our dresser in there as it didn’t fit too well in the other two rooms with the beams.Surprisingly we managed quite well. I cooked one of the enormous gammon joints we bought at Preston butchers and very good it was too. Rhubarb crumble for dessert, with the rhubarb from Mal’s allotment!

 

After lunch Mal took the kids and Ellie for a walk to see the rabbits. They are everywhere. The kids were fascinated because they also saw the lion and the wallabies through the fencing at the Wildlife park.

We all had a lovely day, as Rhys said his only problem was having to work tomorrow and the whole weekend. Whitstable will be so busy. As they say the whole place will be full of “DFL’s” (Dahn from Londons!) There are many who come and stay for the weekend just for the fish restaurants.

Well, just like a miracle, our deposit appeared in our bank account overnight but it came from the landlady not the deposit holding scheme. At least we have it returned in full. I think the mention of court may have spurred her on, as it has to be repaid within 10  days. That is it now, we don’t have to have any more dealings with her. Good luck to the next tenant.

We went to Mal’s new allotment so he could take the measurements and do the planning. The lady is clearing things off it that she needs but looks as though she may be leaving the compost bin behind.

From there I drove him to his first allotment, where he had a lot to do and I also wanted some rhubarb.  I dropped him off and Ellie and I went to Minnis Bay. She hadn’t been in the sea for a few days, so thought she would enjoy it. I was wrong. I am sure she would have enjoyed it had she been able to find anywhere to get in. The sea was crashing against the walls and I could not believe my eyes, the cafe on the front, The Windshack, had lost its roof!

I feel so sorry for the guy who owns it, it is Easter this weekend and the cafe is ruined. Some of the roofs of the beach huts were flying in the wind too. It was horrendous. Ellie and I went for a long walk but nearly got blown over. It didn’t seem as bad inland.
