The sun was out again but the temperature had dropped! Down to the beach as we didn’t want to be shot in the mountains by the hunters! A lot of the sea weed has gone to be replaced by so much rubbish. It was completely strewn across the beach which meant we didn’t stay long as it was so disgusting and Ellie has a habit of scavenging. It would be good to have somewhere safe to take a dog on a Sunday morning!

An interesting programme on Al Jazeera this morning. Same old, same old!

Margaretha came up later in the morning and then we went to Açmenya for lunch and very good it was too. We were even offered Colman’s mint sauce  or horseradish sauce! They make excellent brandy sours.

I thought this was rather a nice picture of Alsancak’s Golden Lady with the mountains in the background.

Cosy in the evening……….first fire of the year….

For those of you who may have known “Looseboots”,(from various bulletin boards) he has now left the island and relocated in Panama. He is writing a blog…….looseboots.blogspot.com. There are so many people seem to be leaving the island.

It was a lot brighter for our morning walk even though rain seems to be forecast for a lot of the coming week. So says Cyprus Today. Well, there wasn’t any what you would call “NEW news”.

We watched the football early evening.

It rained during the night but we managed to find a gap to walk in the mountains. We had to rush towards the end of the walk as it did start raining. Home just in time before torrential rain and one of the massive storms where the lightning is the same time as the thunder and it is so loud! Thankfully it doesn’t bother Ellie at all.

As usual the sun came out later. Then our electrics blew. We narrowed it down to the washing machine and if we lowered the temperature, it worked OK! Then we had a phone call from David and Kenny and their electrics had gone as well. I think it is just as well that we have surge protectors on most things.

Out for our walk and Ellie chased a cat up a tree in the mountains. It couldn’t hold on any longer so dropped and ran up the steep side of a mountain. Of course Ellie chased and then fell back down, silly dog. Mal and I both had visions of her with a broken leg but she picked herself up and carried on running so she couldn’t have done much damage.

There was quite an atmospheric mist in the mountains.

We went shopping later. We had a bit of a stock up on the Moldovian wine which is really nice, well better than Turkish! I drink the rose. Mal is trying their reds.

It wasn’t quite as sunny when we woke up but another lovely walk in the mountains. What a well trained dog……………

Ha ha!! Just as long as she didn’t get a sniff of a hare or fox etc!! But she does love playing ball as long as she doesn’t get distracted. Not quite the perfect dog yet!

More gardening, weeds are popping up everywhere.

We went for a walk in the ravine, not where the foxes go, the other way! There are a lot of wild cyclamen plants down there.

A lovely sunny day again, so more gardening.

In the evening we decided to go and have dinner at Fast Food. Always good food but always far too much but it is nice and friendly there. This was too much for me and Mal had the mixed kebab….far more!

We took Ellie out and it is quite muddy in the mountains after all the rain we have had. Time to order some new dog walking boots for winter. Cotton Traders have some excellent ones for half price and so many 5 star reviews for them, so I have ordered a pair for Mal and a pair for me. They are the Faux Fur lined boots.
