Tuesday 3rd January 2012

I just couldn’t believe the weather. Mal and I got soaked just trying to put our things in the car and the car door nearly blew away! Car loaded and we set off for High Wycombe . The wind and torrential rain was so bad that at times we had to stop on the motorway. Not just us, everyone just came to a standstill.  A lorry also just pulled out in front of me. lucky we weren’t squashed into the crash barrier. It really was a horrendous journey.  Marion had lunch ready for us as we arrived (far later than we expected). We had lunch and then Marion and I walked round to the charity shop that she volunteers at. We bought a few things and  then as soon as we left to walk home the heavens opened. We got totally soaked with the HAIL!

Marion cooked us a lovely meal in the evening and then Bryan and Mal sloped off to the pub. Bryan is having chemo and I think he was glad of the break. The pair of them then came back saying they had ‘pulled’!! Four drunken women who wanted to dance with them. Bryan said he couldn’t, as he has had an operation recently, so he lifted his jumper to show them his enormous scar! It made him laugh, so good on him as he is having a really bad time of it. It was good to see him laugh. Life can become very serious and I think he was relieved by the light relief of Mal!

Monday 2nd January 2012

It was a mild day and no rain so we went for a walk around Broadstairs and then back to Tesco so that I could order some new glasses. With the majority of opticians now doing 2 for 1, glasses are now cheaper in the UK. My last 2 pairs I had bought in North Cyprus but the tables have turned!

Mal had computer things to do and so I watched a film in the afternoon. Isn’t that what you are supposed to do on a Bank Holiday?

Mal is being very good and has been doing all the cooking.

Later, packing for our next lot of travelling.

Sunday 1st January 2012

Mal and I would like to wish all our readers a very HAPPY and HEALTHY 2012.

As far as North Cyprus goes I think it is going to be an interesting year.

We were both up quite early and surprisingly didn’t have bad heads!!

For anyone like me,who has a Kindle  and who may be running out of books, see this Kindle books as now is the time to buy them.  There are some great bargains on there for 99p. I have just bought this one for 99p! It has a 5 star rating, so I hope it will be good.

Mal and I went out for a drive, past our old house, happy memories. It is now back to a quiet country lane, no through road since they have started building the new road. That was only 20 years coming. We then went for our New Years Day constitutional along Minnis Bay. It was great until the rain started. This is where we used to walk our dogs every day come rain or shine. Then back to the caravan which was surprisingly warm and it was really cosy with the rain gently tapping on the roof.
