We dodged the small amount of early morning rain to take Rosie out. I then went into the bank to change my ‘old’ “yeni” lira, if that makes sense. Well, a great discussion about taking 70tl of 1tl coins but eventually they changed them but she then asked me for my name and telephone number and stapled this to the bag!! I don’t know whether they think I am laundering 1tl coins. Something so simple turned into a mammoth task. But then nothing is simple here. I should imagine they will have a lot of coins returned today and tomorrow.
Question – How many Kibtek workers does it take to put a light up? If I give you the information that the pole was already in situ. Come on, guess at least! To be fair Mal thought it may be a training session but if it were then I can tell you at least half were not paying the slightest bit of attention. When counting, please take note of the one man up the pole who was actually doing the work. Did you get the answer correct? TEN…see the first photo! I don’t think even in the UK with their stringent Health and Safety regulations there would be this many!!
An hour later a digger arrived. This then took 15 men to look at the hole!
In the evening we went to Manipeni in Girne for a meal with Lyn and Stu. There is a fantastic choice there and very reasonable prices. We had a lovely evening with good food. I had chicken and prawns in a Jack Daniels sauce. There was so much Mal helped me out wth the chips. Our only dissapointment was that they didn’t have any steak left but Mal said the pizza he chose instead was delicious.
