It rained during the night and when we let Ellie out in the morning, she let us know our frog was back. Yes, it’s a frog not a toad, we were mistaken.

I had my appointment in Ash with the physiotherapist for my knee as referred by my GP. She was excellent and explained everything to me as she went along. She taped my knee up and gave me three different exercises to try and I have to return in two weeks.

Christmas 2023 our Christmas present from Tris was 2 tickets for “Only Fools and Horses” at the Marlowe in Canterbury. He thought they were for last year and then I read the date was 2025! So tonight was the night! It was a very good show, very funny.

Monday 14th April 2025

My volunteer day at Cancer Research, quite busy. I took in some donations but then bought  couple of things home! A lovely dress for the  holiday and a pair of almost unworn Clarks boots for next winter!

We have to ask customers if they would like to buy a pound lottery ticket. I had a lady who became quite angry with me. I told her I would report her feelings to Head Office but I am certain they may have heard it before!

I went shopping very early to Whitfield (Dover), before the masses came out, so it was easy. It was going to be one supermarket but couldn’t pass Home Bargains without checking out the plants! It always makes me think of the cartoon with a woman with a boot overflowing with plants and below it says “I was left unsupervised”. Mmmm, I know that feeling but they are so good at HB and cheap!

Ellie’s 13th birthday! We are so lucky that for a north Cypriot street dog, she has done so well and hopefully more years yet but we thought as she is 13, we would spoil her!! I tried to get her to take a cake (made for dogs) off the plate but she has always been taught not to so she wasn’t going to change the rules today!

Friday 11th April 2025

Mal walked Ellie and then went to do his “How to write a book” course to help raise money for the Manshed.

The attendees became very excited about it all. Penny wanted to go but her daughter is about to give birth and so she had to dash there.

I spent most of the day sitting in the garden, making the most of the weather and taking pain killers!

Thursday 10th April 2025

We were up early as I had my periodontal appointment at Faversham. Dr Ashraf was carrying out open flap debridement regenerative approach. I was there for 8.45. Mal and Ellie went off to the fields for a walk.

I can’t have anaesthetic with adrenaline and the doc warned me that the lack of adrenaline meant I would bleed more.

I was laying in there for 2 hours, without a stop. It’s a long time 2 hours to keep your mouth yanked open, enough said!

I can’t really do much for 24 hours.

Wednesday 9th April 2025

We went into Deal as decided on a seaside walk. After the recent warmth today was very different. Someone told us during the walk that the weather forecast had said “Real feel zero” and it felt like it. We were so cold and not many people around. They had more sense. Only yesterday I packed away my winter boots and took out my sandals!

I stopped  off at Sainsburys while we were in Deal to buy a couple of sides of salmon as they are half price with Nectar, in the freezer now, ready for Easter. We love salmon.
