Lunchtime it was time to go to Red Hatters. It seems so long since we have been together and so nice to see everyone. Paula came as an honorary member. The rain didn’t stop and we were outside at Italianate Glasshouse which meant we kept our coats on most of the time. At the end of June??! But in spite of the weather, a good turn out, 19 in all. Apart from the rain and cold a good time was had by all. Queenie had bought us all Kazoos! I am not sure when we will be performing but Paula managed a solo which we all sand along to!
In the evening we watched Murray playing.

Paula and I went out for lunch. Mal went to the allotment.
We then went on to Ramsgate harbour and stopped for coffee.
There is a shoe shop in Ramsgate where Paula likes to go and buy about 3 pairs of shoes each time she is here. It had closed early and also is closing down…she wasn’t happy! We’ll have to go back another day.
Unfortunately Paula doesn’t like football, so maybe not the best time to stay with us!! I also love the tennis.
A good England game in the evening followed by an interesting Sweden v Ukraine game.

Rain was forecast and so Ellie and I went out early. It was very misty. Now Ellie is getting older she is very well behaved next to the ducks and doesn’t chase them, if she is told to leave them.
Paula arrived lunchtime at Ramsgate station, in the rain! It’s a little unfortunate that she has little interest in either tennis or football, but then she does know me! I had to watch Draper and he did very well considering. Then of course two football matches!! Good games.

Lou and the kids came round to help out at the allotment. I cooked lunch with a lot of our home grown vegetables. Lou sampled some of our home made wine. Mal joked that it was the first time she had left any……..
that was because of the strength not the taste! She was sampling for their party next weekend. My sister and all her lot are now unable to come (11) as one of them has had a positive test. The party invitations were sent out last Christmas, with Lou and Rhys believing it would all be over by now.
I spent the afternoon getting the spare room ready for Paula coming the following day. So much seems to get dumped in there.
We enjoyed the Czech game.
Thought for the Day – “Laugh when you can. Apologise when you should and let go of what you can’t change. Life’s too short to be anything but happy.”
I went shopping which was hard work and I was overcharged in two shops and no apology! I came home and then did a bit of online shopping! I try not to do this too often or we will lose all our High Street shops.
Mal went to the allotment again in the afternoon, so much work to do there and so much to pick!

Not much sleep again, a lot of pain. Let’s hope this is the healing!
Mal went to the allotment and in the afternoon we had an afternoon tea booked, which has been booked for ages, a birthday present. I didn’t want to lose it and so we went, I knew if I couldn’t eat things Mal certainly would! We went to Dover and sat in the garden of the hotel. Lovely staff and very good service. Obviously sandwiches with the crusts cut off, so nothing too hard to chew.
It was actually nice and relaxing. Maybe just what I needed.
