Saturday 31st May 2025

Mal went on his foraging course and Marion and I went to Wingham Wildlife Park.

We then went for a late lunch to the Bell in Minster . It was such a lovely day, we sat out in the garden.  We asked for a bowl to give Ellie some water and this is the huge bowl they gave us!

Mal returned from his foraging course early evening, very excited at all he had learnt. They even collected everything and cooked a meal. Mal made the flatbread!

Friday 30th May 2025

A very short walk across the fields with Ellie, she really was not up to a long walk.

We then went into Whitstable, very busy with holidaymakers. We had lunch at Wheeler’s  Oyster Bar, where Ollie works. Marion and I had the most delicious scallops.

Of course after Ollie had cooked our food , he came out and served it.

Mal had John Dory.

Marion..

After the meal we hd a good look around Whitstable.

Thursday 29th May 2025

We went into Birchington, tried out the Parker Knoll furniture and decided to buy it. Then across the road to the shop for a long chat with Jack. He loved seeing Ellie. We also went to the shop next door which has really lovely gifts in it . Each shop we went into everyone gave Ellie treats! From there we went to Minnis Bay, a walk on the beach and then a coffee sitting outside Waves.

The rest of the day in the garden while Mal went to the allotment and picked loads of strawberries and the first of the broad beans.

In the evening Marion and I went to the Granville Theatre where we had tickets for “9 to 5”. It started off well but got worse and worse until when the interval came we couldn’t decided what on earth was left for the second half…. we left and went home. We kept thinking it would improve and it didn’t!!

Oh dear!

Tuesday 27th May 2025

Good news a negative Covid test this morning which means my sister can come tomorrow and my 9 am physio appointment can go ahead!

I went to Physio, she did more massage ouch and gave me more exercises.

I had seen a lovely antiquey sofa quite a while ago and I liked it so later we drove to see if it was still for sale. Yes, it was still there but on the wall, so going back another day when they will put it on the floor so we can try it out!

Quite a lot of rain in the afternoon, while Rhys sent me sun filled pictures from Cordoba. I hope they are enjoying it.

Monday 26th May 2025

Bank Holiday! We planned to go to Margate Meltdown but we couldn’t summon up the energy and had to sort the house before my sister arrives. Mal spent the morning at the allotment, a busy time now. I actually caught up with the ironing and sorting garden plants. Maybe I’ll get a chance to sit out there soon!

Sunday 25th May 2025

We took Ellie to Minnis Bay, probably some time since she has been to the sea. She loved it and then we sat outside Waves and had a coffee. It was very windy.

Tris wanted to meet up for lunch as Natalie has a new job and it was her first Sunday roast, so we told him we had Covid and he said fine we can eat outside. Natalie has been employed as a “kitchen manager” at a caravan park, it was called head chef in my day!

I had turkey crown roast followed by lemon posset. We sat out by the pool.

Anyway, nice to see Tris and we had a good lunch and really good desserts, made by Natalie.

Spurs played in the afternoon, total disaster! They lost 4-1. They may have a cup but we are just above relegation to end the season. Awful.
