So we were both awake with bad stomach’s and the rest that goes with it. It couldn’t have been the food as we had different meals also the fact that both of us were sweating.
We were invited to Rhys’s for lunch but we didn’t go as we couldn’t eat and anyway he said there was a bug going round and we certainly didn’t want to pass it on to all their family. Mal managed a morning walk with Ellie. I only got up in the afternoon and then had a short walk to the cemetery to put a plant on Torin’s grave. We had hailstones and they were still on the ground for sometime after, so obviously the temperature has dropped and autumn is here!
Thought for the Day – “The sad thing is, nobody ever really knows how much someone else is hurting. We could be standing next to somebody who is completely broken and we wouldn’t even know it.”
Sainsbury’s are giving bonus Nectar vouchers with shopping over £10. Not only that , there is also 25% off Tu clothing, so of course I was off to Sainsburys! So, with two trips through the tills for shopping and another for a jumper I saw and also the petrol station, I have accumulated quite a lot.
Stores are reducing prices so often now that is is rare for me to ever pay full price for anything. I have even ordered some Hotter boots (absolute luxury) and managed to get those 25% off!
Kerry (Mal’s eldest) came to visit in the evening and so we went to The Crispin for dinner. It was very good, as always but early hours of the morning, we were both awake!
Thought for the Day – “Sometimes it is better to just remain silent and smile.”
Mal’s and my 20th wedding anniversary. A year or so ago, we decided that we would have a big family celebration. For reasons I won’t go into here, we got married on our own in Weymouth. Let’s just say someone was stalking! So, to make up for it I was going to get the whole family together and it would be convenient as it is a weekend. Sadly I no longer want to do it without Torin and the twins. It just wouldn’t be the same, so it will be a quiet day, just Mal and I.
Mal bought me a lovely Susan Lordi anniversary ornament.
In the evening we went to The Dog at Wingham. We booked this and then someone told me they had an awful meal there, so we were a little concerned. We needn’t have been. The food really was 5* and the staff really lovely too.
The menu was really good and the waitress helpful as I didn’t know what “coco di Paimpol” was. Basically it is a bean!
I had lobster ravioli, then more fish of course and then the most amazing quince souffle. In fact the best I have ever had!
In spite of our reservations it turned out to be a very good night. The only negative was the local Kent distillery gin which wasn’t too my taste but my fault for ordering it!
Thought for the Day – “Forgive people in your life, even those who are not sorry for their actions. Holding on to anger only hurts you, not them.”
