An early morning walk with Ellie in light rain, quite refreshing.
I had an appointment with “maxillofacial”. To be honest I was sitting shaking in the waiting room after the pain I went through last time. Doc Nicole had left and this time I saw Kwok. He was a very nice man but I just stood and asked him why I was there, why I went to Maxillo at Ashford Hospital, Canterbury Hospital and Dover hospital, then Dover Health Centre, Sandwich dentist and now Faversham health centre. His answer was the hospitals decided I would be better served by the periodontal service which basically is for gum disease rather than cancer! He checked all my records and said I need 3 more teeth to be operated on and one was loose and needed removing by my dentist. I told him my dentist hadn’t a clue what was going on and he said it was not common practice to communicate!!! BUT he said he would send a letter to my dentist explaining everything. Nice man, kind but then I think he realised how upset I was. But I had to laugh, I have to make an appointment for scale and polish, which isn’t until November and will assess which tooth to operate on. The nurse then said his list for operations was long, the amusing bit, I could be dead before all this is done!! At least he was kind and thoughtful.
I also said I wanted to go private to get new dentures and if the teeth were only on the top he had to operate on, then I could get a bottom one. He told me not to waste my money as it may not fit after the ops! At least he was helpful too.
At least I won’t be quite as nervous going next time!
