Sunday 31st August 2025

We walked Ellie and perhaps I shouldn’t say where as I intend going back some time to collect these sloes and then we can make some sloe gin!

Dom came for lunch. Jem should have joined us as well but she wasn’t well. As they are veggies Mal said he would cook the lunch, which was stuffed squash and all the vegetables were from the allotment.

I have to say it was very good. Dom also bought my birthday present with him, it was an olive tree!

I booked tickets for the Police Panto which the Red Hatters go to every year . It is not on until February but they know we are going and as it is a Cowboy theme this year, they have asked if we are wearing red cowboy hats. Looks as though we will have to now!  Maybe a bulk order to Temu.

We walked Ellie and just let her lead us slowly and although it was slow, she continued to the cricket pitch. We did sit down for a while before the walk back home but she has done really well.

Not a good game with Spurs. They lost. In fact I don’t think they woke up until 10 minutes before the end.

Rain! We won’t have to do all the watering today!

We managed to miss the showers for Ellie’s walk in the country park in Eastry and then collected her food from the vets. No, they haven’t received the results of her post op X ray yet.

In the evening we caught up with Destination X. We had to finish it before we saw the result on another programme. We were quite surprised at the winner as she made quite a few mistakes, which did worry us a little as she is a nuclear engineer!

An early morning walk with Ellie in light rain, quite refreshing.

I had an appointment with “maxillofacial”. To be honest I was sitting shaking in the waiting room after the pain I went through last time.  Doc Nicole had left and this time I saw Kwok. He was a very nice man but I just stood and asked him why I was there, why I went to Maxillo at Ashford Hospital, Canterbury Hospital and Dover hospital, then Dover Health Centre, Sandwich dentist and now Faversham health centre. His answer was the hospitals decided I would be better served by the periodontal service which basically is for gum disease rather than cancer! He checked all my records and said I need 3 more teeth to be operated on and one was loose and needed removing by my dentist.  I told him my dentist hadn’t a clue what was going on and he said it was not common practice to communicate!!! BUT he said he would send a letter to my dentist explaining everything. Nice man, kind but then I think he realised how upset I was. But I had to laugh, I have to make an appointment for scale and polish, which isn’t until November and will assess which tooth to operate on. The nurse then said his list for operations was long, the amusing bit, I could be dead before all this is done!! At least he was kind and thoughtful.

I also said I wanted to go private to get new dentures and if the teeth were only on the top he had to operate on, then I could get a bottom one. He told me not to waste my money as it may not fit after the ops! At least he was helpful too.

At least I won’t be quite as nervous going next time!

Tuesday 26th August 2025

Lights have come on in my car , due to cheap supermarket diesel! I usually use Esso but last fill up was at Tesco. I need to run some of the diesel down before I can add some cleaner. So, I took it for a drive along the A2, lights still on, Dover and back, still on! What a pain.

We went back to Whitfield  and tried at Halfords, soooo unhelpful.  We then asked at B&Q.  For a change a really helpful girl who told us to go along the road to GSF Car Parts as she said they were really helpful. They were and gave us a really good “cleaner” to use. Really nice people in there as well. Not everyone is grumpy but Halfords were! I just have to run the diesel down a bit more before we use it.

I heard from Rhys , they are in a caravan in Cornwall and have been crabbing this morning!

Oh dear Hammers lost their game again!
