A walk in King George VI park in Ramsgate.

We spent the day cleaning up and putting things away after the party. We had a video call from Rhys in Spain, thanking us for the party. They were on the beach enjoying the sun.
We were up early to organise the 50th birthday party for Rhys. All his kids were expected except Tariq who went on holiday instead, even though I asked if he could do a detour for his dad. A negative answer. His loss, we all had a good time and lovely for the rest of the family. I am always sad that Torin is absent from such big occasions. Also sad that no one talks about him.
The birthday boy…

And the gang…..

I didn’t realise until too late that we had a lot of shade over half the picture!

Ollie with Arlo and Oscar with Luna!
A walk around the orchards first thing, sunny but a bit cooler. We stopped at the farm shop on the way home and bought a few things including a lovely Campanula plant to put at Torin’s grave.
A day of cleaning up, including the garden slabs and starting a bit of cooking for Rhys’s birthday the following day. I cooked a Samosa pie which everyone seems to love, the only problem is it is hot water pastry, certainly not my favourite. Mal helped me line the pan as my wrist just doesn’t work like it used to.( the severe degenerative problem I have with my thumb. )
Spurs game in the afternoon, they actually won!
We put up some of the birthday banners in the evening. We have decided we are getting too old to be clambering around everywhere! At one point we were laughing so much at each other, I nearly fell off the chair.
We went to Minnis Bay with Ellie, what a lovely day.

My new laptop arrived in the afternoon. I take far too many photos! BUT if I didn’t I wouldn’t have so many of Torin.
We couldn’t find Toady, she certainly didn’t seem to like Toad Hall. Whenever going from pot to pot she seemed to try and cover herself with some leaves.
This morning I discovered what she was playing at………I found her “toad spawn” in my pot of mint. I’ll have to replace the mint!

We have a pond at the allotment so that is where it is going.
Shopping for me, working through a list for Rhys’s 50th Birthday party which we are having at our house. Shocked again at how the food prices keep sneaking up or the contents getting smaller.
I went along to “Kent Speak their name”Suicide Memorial Quilt Workshop. Such lovely people there although it was obviously emotional. At least now I can start thinking about what to do on my square of the quilt for Torin.
I found Monty’s greengrocers the best April Fool today! “Perfect for your sandwiches, while stocks last”!!

We had a lovely walk around the orchards with Ellie.

Our toad is still in the garden, he seems to go hopping around at night and then lands in another of my flower pots! Mal decided it was getting too warm for him during the day and so made this for him…….
