Tuesday 22nd April 2025

In the morning we went to Kearsney in the sun. It is such a lovely place to walk through the woods, see all the new ducklings and then sit and have a coffee. Ellie is a creature of habit and always drags us to the cafe if we were thinking of going another way!

So much wild garlic in the woods, so of course had to pick some to cook. It was such a lovely day.

In the evening we went to The Marlowe Theatre to see Tony Blackburn and his Sounds of the Sixties show. I loved it, all the memories from my youth, starting at 1961. You have to give Tony credit for his energy, even singing and dancing on stage and he is 82!! By the end we were all up singing and dancing. A real feel good night.

Sunday 20th April 2025

This was Mal’s Easter egg and he said he didn’t want to eat a dog, so it may last a while! Lol.

We went to Wingham Orchards. The apple blossom is out and the apricots are forming already.

And then it started drizzling!

Instead of an Easter roast I cooked a delicious salmon, spinach and  cream cheese lasagne, easy on my mouth as I still can’t use the right side. It was very good. It was what I had during the week at the Parlour, so found a recipe and cooked it myself!

Saturday 19th April 2025

We took Ellie to Minnis Bay.

We were going to have breakfast at Waves cafe by the beach but it was so busy that we moved on to Quex Park where we were heading anyway as it was the Manshed Open Day. We went into the cafe first and had the most delicious breakfast

and a long chat to the lovely Polish waitress who had made a fuss of Ellie, saying how well behaved she was and better behaved than a lot of children who went in there!! We then walked round to the Craft centre to the Manshed.  Penny and John had been doing most of the work organising.

Penny is one of my Red Hatters and it was nice that I think most of the girls made an appearance down there to show their support. John had a BBQ going but we had just eaten a late breakfast but Ellie benefited from a couple of sausages. Yes, she got in on the act and here she is with Nikki!!

I had also heard from a lady who had just moved in to the area and wants to join Kent Lavender Ladies. I told her we would be at the Manshed and she came along too!! Our new lady Marta……..

She is a Steampunk and I have to admit to the fact that I had to google what a steampunk is!! She is a lovely lady.

Eventually back home to watch the West Ham game, and oh dear in extra time it ended in a draw.

Friday 18th April 2025

We played the Easter bunny and dropped off the eggs for the grandchildren. Only Oscar in, so we then had a wander around Faversham and the market.

They certainly take their Good Friday seriously.

They had a fascinating mushroom stall on the market.

A few shops were closed but of course the Cancer Research shop was open and so we went in. We chatted to the Manager Lorraine, a lovely lady. I even found a brand new  summer dress, still had the label on…bargain, which of course I bought! I think you get addicted to charity shops when you volunteer in one and realise how many things you can buy that you no longer find in the High Street shops.

Wednesday 16th April 2025

A windy walk over the field with Ellie.

Kent Lavender Ladies then met up for a pre Easter lunch at The Parlour in Birchington.

Pam talked about her month in The States, sadly a week of which she was unwell and just getting better. Ali had a chest infection and Nikki felt unwell. I just hope they haven’t passed germs on!! But we did have a nice lunch even though I made my mouth bleed just before I left to go out and it was painful again, so I wasn’t that keen on eating!
