Down to the beach.

Oh, I forgot to say , Torin went fishing yesterday, rather pleased with his 30 pound catch. It’s at a new lake he managed to get on to this season. Impressed!

Rhys has had no voice for 3 weeks. He is coming to the end of his latest lot of antibiotics. We have told him it obviously isn’t bacterial. The doc has made an appointment for him with a specialist….only 67 days until then. How bad is that? He has no voice and so they won’t let him work. What can you say?

What a transformation in Manchester United! We had to listen to it on 5 Live, couldn’t find it anywhere on Dodgy Turk!  They can have their box back now as footie is the only thing we watch through them.

A mountain walk and then down to buy Cyprus Today. For anyone living in Alsancak, read this….

We had our lunch out at Sea Point. I had the sea bass which was really good. At least in day light I had more chance of filleting the fish!

I noticed yesterday that my car brakes were feeling very spongy. I really can’t have dodgy brakes with the maniacs on the road here. I told Mal we would have to get it sorted and I wasn’t driving it until then.

We did our walk down in the ravine. First we met David walking Jekka and then later Kenny with Loppi. It’s Kenny’s birthday today, so we left something at their entrance!

We then drove the car down to Ziggy. Brake fluid had leaked out, so he opened a new can, topped it up, bled all the brakes and I have brakes again! He gave us the rest of the can just to top up if necessary. How much for 20 minutes work plus the whole contents of the brake fluid can? 20 tl!!!! (about £5.50 at today’s prices) I wonder how much in the UK? Good old Ziggy.

A good thing the brakes were working well on the way home as I just noticed in time, a rather large chameleon sitting in the middle of the road. I would have been really upset had I squashed him.

A mountain walk and it is so much cooler now. Much more pleasant than the humid August.

Violet and Tris came on the web cam. Violet starts her “big” school for two and a half hours a day next Monday. Another one really looking forward to going.

Another long walk in the mountains and then back home to clean up as we had an estate agent coming. It was Korinia and yes, he was very good. We bought the land through Korinia when we first came here.  Well, we will see if our house sells now ! I have to say he was far more positive than any of the other agents. The first one we had a year ago and haven’t heard a thing from them since! I guess a lot of them made their money during the boom.

One of my palms has produced a really nice flower right at the top. It’s a little difficult to see it is so high.

Interesting that people were over at Hasan Sungur’s houses today. Well, I say his houses, he owns the land and is it therefore everything that is on it, and never mind the poor people who have paid around £80K on the houses that are falling apart?
Josie started at “big” school for two and a half hours a day. She evidently ran in without a backward glance……..the last one to go to school!

House in North Cyprus for Sale

The sun is getting lazier, getting up that little bit later every morning! It makes our mountain walks so much more pleasant.

For those who remember the Kulaksiz 5 battle, believe it or not it is still crawling along. I just can’t believe nowadays, no one seems to care, let alone report on it. I guess they are just wearing down the K5 people. Shameful. Such an attitude of well it’s not happening to me. Let’s hope the people who have mortgages on their properties never find out, ignorance is bliss they say.

Mid morning we went to get some shopping and more London Pride beer! We also went to the book shop to buy Rauf Denktas’s book. Another accident in Starling car park as we came out of the book shop. Lunch time is not a good time to go out driving, there seriously were a lot of maniacs on the road, perhaps they were hungry and obviously ordering their lunches on their phones as they were driving along! Nightmare!

We called in on an estate agent, who seems very good, we will reserve judgement.

Swimming in the afternoon and how does a 29 degree pool feel cold?!!
