Horrible news to wake up to. Five of the gorillas from Howletts that were released in Gabon have been found dead. Damian must be totally devastated. He had such a special bond with these gorillas. From when the grandchildren were little I use to take them to Howletts and we would sit for hours watching the gorillas, even back in Damian’s fathers day we would watch them in the cages with the baby gorillas. Very sad. We went to the beach again. More paddling and digging for Ellie.

When we arrived home,as we walked up to the front door a cat was lying by the side of our house. I had to take Ellie indoors as she was stressing the poor cat that wasn’t moving, breathing very heavily but didn’t appear to be injured. We have no idea what happened to it but we think it was in shock. There are so many cats around here but we know Lena has about 10. We phoned and Willy came over and yes it was one of their cats Chico. It didn’t appear to be injured thankfully but hadn’t moved. Willy put it into a cat carrier and took it home. Very odd, I guess it must have been in shock from something.

Our internet has been erratic to say the least for the last couple of days. Skype calls have been impossible. This is why.

We had our lunch at The Hut. Mal had the beefburger and I had the garlic prawns. Good home made food and a terrific view with a lovely sea breeze.

Back to the beach now Ellie is better. She loves rolling in the sand and digging.
She still isn’t confident with the waves and won’t go too deep. Well, that will teach Mal to throw the ball into the deep bit!

We bought Cyprus Today on the way back. I still can’t comprehend the hit and run driver who only had one eye and defective sight in the other, had been ” drinking, speeding and driving carelessly.” May his victim rest in peace.

A mountain walk, not as long as usual but Ellie seems back to her old self. I forgot to mention she even found a hedgehog in the garden again last night and presented it in a rolled up ball from to Mal. We keep putting them into Mustafa’s garden and they keep coming back! She doesn’t hurt them just decided to carry them around.

We did have a couple of spots of rain in the afternoon and it wasn’t as humid.

Ellie woke us up in the morning, having slept all night and thankfully not wanting to be sick! Another small amount of scrambled egg which she kept down. I think she has turned the corner as yesterday it was even hard for her to keep water down. I knew if I took her to the vets they would put her on a drip and probably send her home with the drip still in. Home nursing is best, unless of course she had become dehydrated. I know yesterday we would have had to carry her in and out of the car. Today she has even wagged her tail!

She was much better in the afternoon, almost back to her old self. Worse than having kids! I heard from Rhys he has had a bad throat and no voice for a week. The doctor has told him it may need further investigation with a camera.

At last we were able to do a little gardening.

Ellie was not at all well in the night. She kept vomiting, well every couple of hours and came to wake me up, bless her. By the morning both of us were exhausted. Thankfully she was drinking water.

News from KTW….. “More good news…..there WILL BE a nest excavation tonight meeting Turtle Shack in Club Guzelyali car park at 6pm with release at dark. Then there’ll be 2 left!!” Don’t miss the opportunity to go and see the turtles.

We were going out to lunch but Ellie was really poorly and so we couldn’t leave her. If she drank too much , which wasn’t that much she just brought it back up. Poor thing looked so sorry for herself.

She ate nothing all day but by about 6pm, we managed to tempt her with a tiny but of scrambled egg which she kept down.

The sun is rising later each morning. It was still dark when we headed for the mountains and it wasn’t until we were on the way back that the sun popped above the mountain. We had a very long walk.

 

I remembered that although we had Ellie micro chipped in April, I hadn’t received an email from Pertev saying the registration was back with him. So we drove to Girne and  collect it. It was waiting with a lot of others that hadn’t been collected. Looking at the form, my email had been written incorrectly! We then went to Alsancak Beledeysi with the paper work, handed over 12 tl and she is now legal.

Please read this about Ashya King. As a parent I would sell my soul for my kids, His parents are criminalised for caring?? What is going on in the UK? It sounds like very arrogant doctors. Just watch the video.

More cloud when we woke up but at least we saw the sun when we were at the beach. Even the weather forecast says it is going to be humid today and that is the first time it has mentioned humidity.

It was David’s birthday. They planned on going to Cratos for lunch but the three restaurants they were going to choose from were all closed!

There was talk of Spurs buying Wellbeck. Next I heard he seems to have got lost in North London and ended up with the Gunners!

Another humid day. I did try and remove a lot of the sand from the house. It gets everywhere after we have been to the beach.
