We decided to go to Margate main sands. Ellie loved it and ran to the far end of the beach. I was a little concerned about her running, we will see how she is later in the day. Then I realised why she was running so far, a smelly dead fish which of course she rolled in. She smells things from such a long way off!

She went in the sea but still smelt. It was a really bitter wind on the sea front. No holiday makers!

Back home and we had to shower her.

Lou and Rhys flew to their house in Spain and sent me pictures during the day.

I hope they enjoy the sun!!

Of course I was working at the Cancer Research shop all day, not that busy. It was a very cold wind so maybe people were staying at home.

Rhys’s birthday, he is celebrating by going off to Spain!!  Good for him getting away from all the rain and going to see some sun and do some bits in their house!

We took Ellie to Kearsney Abbey to see how her leg coped. She was much slower and it was obvious to us when she had enough but she liked the water therapy!

There is so much wild garlic everywhere so we picked a lot to bring home and cook with.

It was such a lovely day, we stopped at the cafe for a coffee.

Mal cooked a roast while I was watching the Man U v Liverpool game.

I went into Deal to shop. I actually found some red shoes which I have been looking for, for Red Hatters! Deal has some very quirky shops, not the chain stores there are at Westwood Cross. The only problem is more houses being built and digging up the roads and so two sets of traffic lights holding all the traffic up! It is just everywhere you go! More and more houses being built.

In the afternoon it was football and both Hatters (Luton)and Hammers (West Ham) won! I watched the Luton match and it has to be said they are the team who really do try hard at every game. So glad they managed to win.

Another short walk for Ellie, half way along Rope Walk and her leg seems improved. We have bought some salmon oil as a supplement for her.

In the afternoon we went to Rochester to look at kitchen cupboards. I think the shoddy workmanship in Cyprus has put me off having anything done, plus the faulty mattress here. Zoe has made a CAD of our kitchen. We chose some bits and then have to look at prices and price for installing etc. I have no enthusiasm at all for it.

We had Ellie with us. From there we went on to Maidstone Hospital because at long last Mal had an appointment with the consultant. Ellie and I sat outside in the car for nearly an hour and a half. BUT positive news, the consultant is going to perform HOLEP procedure and says it will be 3 – 6 months, so much more positive now. He told Mal as he was healthy he had no qualms carrying out the procedure.

It was late when we were heading home and too late to cook dinner so we stopped off at The Bell for fish and chips and sat with Ellie in their garden.

A strange day, raining on and off so a bit difficult to get much done outside although Mal did manage some time at the allotment in between showers.

We also took Ellie for her first walk since her limp, so a very slow short walk in Wingham wood and it seems a lot better but of course, she has had all those pain killers so we’ll take it slowly.

Kent Lavender Ladies day out at Hever Castle. The coach picked me up at  7.15 in Sandwich, the other girls were Birchington and Margate and so I had been on the coach an hour by the time we were all together! Then we stopped at Medway services for a comfort break. In short it took us 4 hours to get to Hever Castle! The problem being as well that major roads were shut.

Although the weather wasn’t marvellous, we had a really good day. Four of the rooms had been closed off ready for the Boleyn apartments, which should have been finished. The restaurant was not good and was really overpriced, it also drizzled a fair bit but we still had fun. We made the most of it!

I arrived home at 8pm but it really was a fun day.
