I thought my laptop had died, no sound at all and then all sorts of odd things happening to it or rather not happening to it! A good thing I have a Mr Fixit Techie. Even he thought it was possibly a new one needed but he is persistent and sorted it out for me. One of the problems today is the high humidity, the clouds may have something to do with it!
For a change we thought we would go into Girne in the evening. We walked along the harbour and discovered meals were not as expensive as they used to be. Prices were hiked up as obviously this is one of the main tourist areas. We ate at The Harbour Club and I was even able to choose which sea bass I wanted. We had a large meze to start and Mal had Kleftico, not bad for 45tl each considering where we were and yes another beautiful sunset. Mal was also impressed with the 70cl of Efes for 10tl!
The waiters were very good and friendly and placed huge fans by each table with diners, it was still very humid. Our ice bucket lasted for 10 minutes and then it was warm water!
Dinner was followed by a walk along the sea front.
It was nice to sit in the harbour and remember our first visit in 2001, not so many people there then! My goodness a lot has changed in this country since then.
