A nice walk and then I went shopping, more cherries of course, they are now down to 12.50tl a kilo and they are delicious. I emptied the car out and left the back door of the car open while I brought some of the shopping in. Ellie jumped in and stayed there for about 15 minutes, obviously wanted to come shopping with me.

I also went back to Nulten Oral as I am really not happy with having a crooked fringe. She cut it again but I didn’t actually get an apology. Mmmmm, maybe time to change my hairdresser. I’d much rather stick to Marcello in the UK. He is so good and always make me laugh too.  Don’t get any laughs at Nulten!

It’s good to read that the turtles are nesting in spite of the pipe line. Today’s nest has been named Mia (photo courtesy of Karsiyaka Turtle Watch). I can’t wait to see them again in July. I would go and take my own photos but dogs are now banned on the beach.

Very sad to hear Rik Mayall has died today. RIP.
In the evening I watched last nights Soccer Aid. It was a good game.

Just before I went to bed, this flew into the kitchen an ant-lion (palpares libelluloides). It was big!

No surprise with Nadal winning the French Open!

I did try and watch Soccer Aid in the evening but the picture kept freezing so in the end I gave up. Mal had some time off and went out for Sunday lunch with Pauline and Chris. Good luck Chris for the operation on your hand tomorrow.

Out for an early morning walk and the sky was so lovely.

I then drove down to buy Cyprus Today. I have been writing the news from this ‘paper’ for NCFP. Well, I really struggled this morning. Pauline had contacted me as well to send her the report of K5’s court appearance. What report in Cyprus Today??! I also wonder if their weather forecast is correct…………………more wind to come….

and more wind means more dust in the pool. I cleaned it again.

Torin came on the phone for an hour, he managed to get some time away from work!

Well, around two pm we had thunder, lightning and torrential rain, so they got today’s forecast right!

As usual I heard from Mal in the evening, his brain is numb with exam work but thankfully he has tomorrow off to go out to lunch with friends.

Meanwhile K5’s battle continues in court today

This is Ellie’s favourite sitting position, front paws crossed and back legs splayed apart!

I went to Nultan Oral to have my hair cut in the morning and some shopping in Lemar on the way back. They are selling a 5 litre Cape Elephant  box of wine for 28.50 tl. (That’s about £1.65 a litre!! The rose is nice, in fact that was what I was drinking at David and Kenny’s yesterday.

Then of course it was time for the tennis! I can’t say I was surprised by Nadal beating Murray.I was chatting to Mal on Skype when we had a power cut. My laptop was fully charged and so I watched some downloads.

Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place, and in the sky,
The larks, still bravely singing, fly,
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

Another windy morning when we were out walking.

05-06-14 03-19-27 - 0003

I noticed after our walk that Ellie started rubbing her face. At first I thought it was a tick but having brushed her, I couldn’t find one. She has a collar on but I know I often find them crawling over her after a walk. Well, she kept on trying to scratch something on her face. I watched her and realised it was her eye and it was inflamed.

I went off to the vets, the Prof. We arrived at her door and this had never happened before, Ellie just sat down and wouldn’t move!! She was not going in! I guess since I have had her she has been a little like a pin cushion and the op for her being spayed too. A lot of needles in a few months. Well, I had to part lift, part drag her in and the Prof even came out with a bag of treats to try and entice her in!! We managed in the end. The Prof couldn’t see anything in it just inflammation but put drops in her eye and told me I must do it, 2 drops twice a day. She gave me Neo-Kort, an antibiotic steroid. The cost 40tl (about £11.30)

On the way home I stopped at David and Kenny’s to drop off a tool I had borrowed. Dave was there too, replacing some of their pool tiles. I had intended just dropping it off and left Ellie in the car. Kenny insisted I stayed for a glass of wine as Jennifer was there too and Kenny fetched Ellie out of the car. Four dogs again running around the pool. It took Ellie’s mind off scratching her eye. Well, a couple of glasses of wine later and then Kenny insisted I stay for dinner!!!! I am so lucky having such good neighbours. They are both the nicest of people. Thank you both.

Ellie and I were out before 5.30! It wasn’t until I realised the sun had risen behind the mountain that I noticed it was cloud in the sky! Today’s forecast is “sunny to partly cloudy”!

04-06-14 03-06-10 - 0004

I listened to the news in the UK, one of the main items…..a 5p charge for carrier bags. Don’t they know they have been doing this in Wales for a long time?

Another clean of the pool, a bit useless as it is so windy and also some gardening.

I waited for the rain to stop in Paris so that I could watch Murray’s game against Monfils. He won but he does make hard work of his third sets just when you think he is going to sail through! At least he downed the fifth set quickly so I could go to bed. Now he has Nadal to face in the semi final.

I went shopping and paid all the bills after our morning walk. The lock on our meter cupboard fell apart but I couldn’t get the old lock off as Mal had obviously tightened it too much. David to the rescue . He managed it but then I discovered the new lock I bought didn’t fit so I went to the Yapi market and they tried to sell the same lock to me again! In the end I found the one I wanted myself. I fitted it only to discover (which I hadn’t noticed before), there is a wasps nest in the meter cupboard!!

I was in the pool in the afternoon doing the final cleaning of the sides. Plenty of chlorine in it too. Ellie comes to the edge of the pool, puts her nose under and blows bubbles!
