It was HOT! In the morning I cleaned out the spare room which seems to have accumulated all our ‘spare’ stuff over the winter. I also cleaned everything, including all the floors. All dust removed.

In the evening, the most enormous gusts of wind started up. As I have all the doors and windows open all the dust and leaves and debris came flying back in.

I think this praying mantis took refuge from the wind between one of my windows and the shutters!

Wednesday 8th June 2011

I bought Cyprus Today see link. The $250M scheme for the coastline was the main story on the front page but I copied word for word the report on Monday’s Kulaksiz 5 court case. It was also front page but not the main story. Well, I thought it was pretty important ‘Kulaksiz 5 builder admits he made a mistake’. These are peoples lives here, the stress and trauma this has and is causing is unbelievable.

Well, the $250M sheme for Mare Monte! A zoo as well. This will be just down the road from us. It will be the end of Rosie’s walks on a nice quiet beach. I do believe that we have heard all this before.

Lunchtime Gwen and I went to Silver Rocks. It is a lovely place to eat, right next to the sea. We had a good meal and then I took Gwen home and had a coffee at hers.

Tuesday 7th June 2011

As Rosie’s leg is improving I decided to try her at the beach. She was so excited and ran down to the beach. I took her ball but only threw it twice in case she over did it. She also managed to get back to the car. I showered her when we arrived home and for a very short while she was limping a little but soon recovered. I won’t take her too often but she did enjoy it! There was a lot of sea rocket down there.

I then went to pay the electricity and water bills and on to Starling, I don’t know why I went there as the cashier was sooo miserable. It seems the island is dry of Gold Fasl again! I’ll have to find a supply before Mal gets back.

We had two power cuts during the day.

Mal may not be here but at least I have David Essex to ogle at now he is in Eastenders!

Monday 6th June 2011

I was out gardening some of the day and I was joined by Bubbles (Lena’s cat). Everywhere I went she was winding herself around my legs. A little worrying as she has been around our garden for the last two days. When she has been around for that amount of time, we often find a dead snake. She seems to know when they are around and in spite of her size, she is a killer!

I heard from Mal who is having a nightmare over one centres work, worrying as it seems the teacher didn’t know what she was teaching!

Sunday 5th June 2011

The temperature is rising! Rosie and I had a good walk in the morning, she seems to want to go a bit further each day and along with the warmer weather I am seeing marked improvement with her leg.

Lunchtime I was invited to a BBQ at David and Kenny’s. Seren and Colleen were also there. It was a delicious BBQ and excellent company. There is a house next door to David and Kenny’s that another Russian has bought and it seems they, along with our other Russian neighbour are not content to leave the house as they bought it but to rip out kitchen and bathrooms and replace them. I might add these houses when bought have high spec fittings. So, as we sat there just starting to eat, one of the workmen started a high pitched drilling right next to where we were eating. David told him in no uncertain terms that it was Sunday and he had guests. At least they stopped.

Before long I think this is going to be “Russian corner”!

It was a very pleasant afternoon. Thank you David and Kenny.

I arrived back home just in time to send the end of the Federer v Nadal final. Nadal did very well to beat Federer.

Saturday 4th June 2011

Rosie was up for her walk first thing in the morning and walked further than she for a long while. Looking good. My ear seems to be getting better too.

Again I cleaned the pool.

I later went to buy Cyprus Today see link.

Torin had Scarlet and Jack on the web cam. They were so funny. The web cam shots are not very good as it is the weekend! When I paid my Extend money this week I did ask Gwyn why the internet was always so bad at the weekend, her reply was that more people are using it!

I have to add here that I was not impressed at the dog at the Russian House constantly barking its head off at midnight.

Friday 3rd June 2011

A lovely warm day and I went and had lunch with the ‘girls’ (some from the committee that we used to be on.)

We went to Nosheens who are still in their old premises but I believe they are moving next week. A shame about the green pool behind us. We had a good old yap and catch up as usual. Ingrid was kind enough to translate a page ad from Wednesday’s Cyprus Today see link. I doubt the people concerned will even know anything about it as it was all in Turkish. For the benefit of those people who have paid money for their unfinished houses in Incesu, in fact in front of our house, and are probably residing in the UK – see link.

They are George Michael Philips,  Julie and Leslie Greenside, Francis and Denise Ann Madden and Alison Rebecca Bagnall.

One of the purchasers asked me to take photos for them a while back so hopefully someone reading this diary will know how to get in touch with them. You have 30 days from last Wednesday.

Back to our meal. All went well until we asked for coffee and were told that the kitchen was closed! That was disappointing.  Joan said I hadn’t taken a photo of her purple streaks in her hair, so I did, not that it is the most flattering picture as it did look really nice.

I arrived back home just in time to watch Murray knocked out of the tennis by Nadal.
