A walk around the cricket pitch, Ellie even did a bit of running!

I made soup for lunch (getting a bit cold for salad!) Lovely olive bread with it.

Mal went to the allotment. I painted some more memory stones, some of the stones we collected in the Isle of Wight. Ellie jumped up on to the sofa, the first time she has done this since her op. Good progress.

Sunday 16th November 2025

Another dreary day. I drove to Faversham and met up with Lou and Josie and we went to the Kent Showground to the Christmas Gift and Festive Food Show. It was wet and very muddy. It was a lot like last year, not too much different and it was very busy.

And yes they were reindeer behind Lou and Josie!

Saturday 15th November 2025

I went shopping in Whitfield (Dover) while Mal walked Ellie. It was sunny as I drove towards Dover and then as I finished my shopping, the fog had come down and my car is also covered in Sahara dust! What weird weather. In the afternoon I sat and watched a Christmas film. Unusual for me! Mal was practising his Christmas roast (the vegetables!) He decided he is going to cook Christmas lunch, so has started organising it.

Friday 14th November 2025

We took Ellie to Botany Bay (in between the rain!)

We were the only people down there. Lots of mussel shells on the beach.

It was Mal’s sister Marion’s birthday today so we took her present and card to her. She had a new phone and so that took up all morning for not just Mal transferring all her numbers but trying to teach her how to use it. Marion has disabilities and a good thing Mal has so much patience with her.  But I had to entertain her, not easy and she gets louder and louder. We were both exhausted by the time we left.

I spent the rest of the day tracking Sara Cox, then watching live when she finished. Very emotional during the day.  She did so well raising  9.5 million pounds! Then of course Children In Need in the evening.

Thursday 13th November 2025

After Ellie’s walk we drove to Faversham. Mal took Ellie to the park and I went to Maxillofacial/Periodontal, whatever they want to call it nowadays. He did more checking , cleaning, measuring and said he can’t give a date for the next op until I have the wobbly tooth out, so I have to book it with my dentist for the end of January. I took a pain killer before I went in there and it still hurt!

Managed to get booked with the dentist  Zareen for the end of January for the extraction.

Just had to donate to Sara Cox (Radio 2), she is doing so well. Over 3 million pounds raised so far.

I forgot to mention how many police were out and about in the Isle of Wight.  We are not used to seeing that many Police and so many unmarked police cars stopping drivers.

In the evening watched the winning game for England.

The grandad I never knew….Thiepval Memorial

We took Ellie to Kearsney, the first time she has been here since the op. We wondered if she would go in the stream….straight in and she managed to get in and out.

Mal put his wellies on just in case she couldn’t get back up but she managed and then rolled in the mud!!

She had fun!
