Tuesday 10th March 2026

Marion and I went into Broadstairs as she said she had never been there before. A bit of a waste of time as a lot of the shops were shut as in a lot of the seaside towns. We went into a quaint coffee shop. Very slow serving us and then they came out and said they had run out of milk, could we wait!!! Tesco was just opposite what was their problem? We were fed up waiting and so left. A coffee shop without milk??

We walked up the High street and found one that had milk!

Only a short time out and back home as my throat was sore again.  I rang the hospital to see if there was any news on my scan. Tenth in the queue, just waiting, eventually they answered.  They said the queue for scans had to be “vetted” to see what type of scan was needed and no idea how long.

I was so tired again that I went to bed at 7. Trouble is I try to do things during the day and then get exhausted. Just as well I was in bed and sleeping as evidently an awful Spurs game, losing 5-2. Mal said I should watch the video of the goals…I don’t think so!

Monday 9th March 2026

Had I not been ill, Marion and I would have been going to Eastbourne with the Red Hatters today. So as we missed out on that we caught the bus into Canterbury, a slow walk around and then we had our lunch in The Ivy.  The food is so good there.

In the evening Hammers won their game!! Marion is not impressed with football, never has been.

Sunday 8th March 2026

Another misty morning and all the way to Shepherdswell where we took Ellie to Knees Wood for her walk.

Mal cooked a roast and very good it was too and Marion and I watched Crufts and very pleased that the Clumber Spaniel won the gun dog group and then on to win the best in show…result!

Saturday 7th March 2026

Marion and I went into Deal for a wander around the shops. We had to stop for coffee as I was so exhausted. We didn’t find anything we really liked, unusual in Deal.

Home and we caught up on Crufts.   Marion is probably quite bored as I have so little energy.

I ended up going to bed at 7.30 I was so tired. This has certainly taken it out of me.

Friday 6th March 2026

A nice morning and so we went to King George VI park.

In the afternoon my sister arrived. A long story short but she was coming on a trip to Eastbourne on Monday with the Red Hatters. I had to cancel the Eastbourne holiday for me but Marion had bought her train ticket so came down to see how I am. So neither of us are going but nice to see her.

Wednesday 4th March 2026

We walked Ellie around the Minster fields. A slow walk but then Ellie is happy with that, sniffing all the way. I just don’t have too much energy. The practitioner told me it may take 6-8 weeks to get over this and I didn’t believe her.

It was a Hatters lunch but I had already told them I wouldn’t be going as really didn’t feel up to it.

In the afternoon I had to go back to Canterbury to the dentist for  tooth fitting. It was sunny and warm in Canterbury. Sandwich…misty all day!!
