Off to Kearsney Abbey this morning so that Ellie could have her dip in the stream and as usual, she rolled in the mud afterwards!

Thursday 16th January 2025

It was so nice and sunny and quite warm and so we took Ellie to St Mildred’s Bay. We met Trevor down there, the guy who started the Retriever meet every weekend. Sadly, he had 3 retrievers and he lost two of them over the Christmas break. How so sad. One had fits and the other had a tumour.

Ellie enjoyed her swim.

Tuesday 14th January 2025

We walked Ellie over the fields, not quite as frozen as the previous few days.

Lunchtime I met up with the Kent Lavender Ladies (Red Hatters) at The Bell at Minster. We always have a lot of laughs. Penny managed to come even if she was coughing the entire time poor thing. She has been very ill since New Years Eve.

Monday 13th January 2025

My volunteer day at Cancer Research. I am back to wearing my old prescription glasses after handing the useless ones back and I am sure that was why I nearly fell down the stairs at work, couldn’t see properly as they are varifocals and I have been used to wearing the other prescription. In that split second I thought I would land at the bottom of the stairs next to the till. I really don’t know how I managed to stop myself but I ended up twisting my body and pulling my back. I really hurt in the evening and had to take a pain killer,

How easy accidents happen, could have been worse with broken anything!

Sunday 12th January 2025

Another very cold day but Ellie loves rolling in the frozen grass. It was sunny and a nice day but just so cold.

Mal cooked a roast and we watched a poor game from Spurs but they did win. Followed by Man U beating Arsenal.

Meanwhile Ellie cuddles her favourite toy.

Saturday 11th January 2025

We dropped Ellie off at Lou and Rhys’s and then caught the train to London. We went to see the panto at The Palladium. We were just outside looking at the posters when a young lady said she would take our photo if that was what we were going to see. Mal jokingly said “Don’t run off with the phone ” to which she replied “I am off duty police and just doing my good deed for the day!”

We then walked across the road to Amalfi to have some lunch. Just as well we booked as it was very busy. I had the Linguine Al Gamberoni. I cook something very similar and theirs was delicious, I’ll try mine with chilli next time!

Then across the road to watch the panto, Robin Hood.

They really excelled, the costumes, the scenery, the props. We were even all given 3 D glasses so we had animals attacking us! I have to say we laughed so much we cried! Jane MacDonald was very good but it is always Julian Clary’s show so he can really take the mickey out of Nigel Havers.

We really enjoyed it.

The train back to Faversham and when we walked to Lou and Rhys’s we were frozen and so was my car!

Thought for the Day – “Today is a perfect day to become better.”
