In the morning another sunny walk to Hanckley Common, before a lot of walkers were on the golf course so we didn’t have to look right for the golf balls! Ellie had a lovely run.
When we came back our neighbour, a very nice lady, came and had a chat with us. We decided to go back to the pub and have one of their 3 course “special deal” lunches. Ellie and I sat in the garden while Mal went to get the menus and drinks.

Mal came back out quite annoyed as their menu (as shown online) had everything but 2 mains crossed off it and it certainly wasn’t that busy that they had run out of everything. The two choices left were the steak and the vegetarian…no thanks! So we walked back to the lodge and put some food in the slow cooker, so we could have a meal in the evening instead.
We walk past this little family as we go back to the lodge.
For the first time we ate indoors as it was getting darker and started to rain. Ellie got herself very comfortable.

A storm was brewing and Ellie started panting and stressing after we went to bed. She was OK if I leant out of bed and stroked her but then she would start again and wander round. I can’t say she settled at all. I guess in a log cabin everything seems louder and a dog was barking next door.
