We took Ellie out to Ramsgate park, next to the sea and went early. It was a beautiful morning.

Later I had an appointment at the hairdressers.

I was so happy to hear that Grace (my sponsored Guide Dog) has made it through her training and has now been partnered….yeah!

Time to find another!

Thought for the Day – Once you have had a wonderful dog, a life without one is a life diminished.”

Time for another Red Hatter lunch, this time at The Anchor at Wingham. We had a lovely lunch and lot of laughs. A new lady Jan is so funny. Also there was a lady in the pub who is very interested in joining us. Hopefully she will get in touch and join us.

I wasn’t very good at taking photos, I think we were too busy having fun!

I am so pleased we started a new group, these are true Red Hatters, all very caring. I can’t say the last group was!

Thought for the Day – “A true friend is somebody who can make us feel better no matter how bad things may be.”

Lou and Rhys were booked to go to their house in Spain.  Sadly their greyhound Marlene bolted a couple of days previous and they had to cancel. I offered to nurse her but she was in a bad way. The vet thought she had damaged her spine but after X rays they discovered she hasn’t broken anything but has a lot of nerve damage and in a lot of pain. Poor girl isn’t even able to jump up on the sofa.

Feeling very sorry for herself.

Each year around Torin’s anniversary of leaving us Mal and I go for a “celebration of Torin’s life” meal. That is what we did today and went to Canterbury to the Cooks Tale restaurant.  I could not believe it, in fact you couldn’t make it up. Just across from us were two fellas, one of them very loud mouthed and they were talking (shouting) about depression/death/suicide. For goodness sake, people go out to eat to relax. I have to say, he was winding me up so much I was shaking. Mal went and spoke to the waiter, explained and asked if we could move tables and bless him the waiter gave us a lovely table the other side of the restaurant. As I got up I turned to him and told him we were moving because I no longer wanted to listen to his morbid conversation and felt sure nobody else did! He just glared at me, no apology nothing. People really have changed!

However having moved, we had a really lovely three course lunch and our waiter was so lovely. The food was excellent and as well as three courses we had amuse bouche in between. They describe all the food as they serve it. The restaurant was very busy and the waiter brought Mal the wrong dessert. Mal told him not to worry he would have it. He told Mal no he must have what he ordered, so told him to eat the one he had and then he would bring the correct one, so he had TWO!!

and from Torin’s soulmate Lisa on fb…..

7 long years without you my darling 🧚🏾‍♂️I miss our Sunday afternoon chats where we chilled out at yours and put the world to rights ( although I do still chat to your picture like a loon ( as you’d call me 🤦‍♀️) I miss our adventures and making memories together, even on an ugly day you were my biggest supporter,my keeper of secrets,my sharer of dreams 🧚🏾‍♂️I miss your huge bear hugs that seemed to last forever and made me feel so safe , but most of all my Peter Pan I miss you ….. Love you always ,Tink ❤️🧚🏾‍♂️

In the afternoon I was meeting up with the Hatters to go and see ‘& Juliet’. I didn’t feel like going but Mal insisted that Torin would have wanted me to. It took a little of the sadness away as it was a very good show.
