We tried the dog sitter for a day before booking for a longer period. So, we decided to go to London  and see Phantom of the Opera, something we haven’t seen in spite of it running for so long. We dropped Ellie off , with all instructions, caught the train, hoping that the present overtime ban wouldn’t mean we couldn’t get home again!

We arrived and had some lunch, not our usual ‘picnic in the park’ as it been raining quite heavily. We do now have this tiny ‘picnic blanket’, when folded about 2″ x3″, a brilliant idea. (After sitting on the grass previously in white trousers!)

On to the theatre. It was obviously a sell out.

For a number of reasons I have to say that neither of us enjoyed the show.

We were going to go for a drink somewhere afterwards and maybe a bite to eat but we hadn’t had any updates on Ellie. When I have dogs I am letting the owners know if they have settled, how they are and what we are doing along with a lot of pictures. Nothing from this sitter! Concerning to say the least. So, what with the possibilities of train problems because of the overtime ban, we decided to go and get the next train home. That wasn’t the end of it! Signal problems which meant we sat on the train an extra hour. The driver was obviously as annoyed as we were and advised us all to claim money back for delays and to go on Twitter and complain! So, we sat there putting our claim in!

We collected Ellie, earlier than planned and made the decision we would not be using that sitter again, he didn’t even reply to a message I sent him!

All in all not one of our best days! Tomorrow will be better.
